Political Correctness is an idea. An idea that can change. An idea that can be ignored. Not a lot of progressives are in favor of censorship.

It's kind of like manners. Do you have to follow it? No.

I heard about it on the News about a year ago or so, I'm sure you can google it and find something. There are many times when something as silly as that get blown out of proportion all in the name of Political Correctness. When you can do or say something for fear of offending someone, no matter how silly it is, the world becomes a little more under the grip of tyrrany.

It's all apart of Political Correctness. It's politically correct for students to not wear American Flag T-shirts, or not have toy guns out of fear of 7 years later some child taken a real gun to school. Or wimpifying the male child. It's all behavior control.

Of course, on the flip side, it is also unpatriotic for a student not to say the pledge of allegiance every morning in high school, or to refuse to say "under God" in said pledge, or be angry that my religious rights have been trampled on because the Ten Commandments are on display in front of what is supposed to be a non-religious governmental building... so really, there are arguments and actions from both ends of the spectrum which are downright ridiculous.

I agree with that. But, that's also with Student Sanctioned school prayer. I just don't like Government forcing people to do things if that individual isn't harming or frauding someone else. Let the shmucks do what they want.

I don't know what **** is, but I assume you mean curse words. I don't think that they should have curse words over the radio, or on tv. Thats more of a decency thing. But, if its the radio and the TV are playing something you don't agree with, I don't think you have the right to make the Government shut that down. The whole Janet Jackson thing was totally blown up for no reason. Oh Noez, a booby.

Violence and Murdering on TV is much more harmful to a child than a booby.

In England the government doesn't like houses or cars to have the Flag of St George on them because it might offend the ethnic minorities. What a load of BS!!! No, they did not. And censorship is as old as human civilization and goes beyond the concepts of what is considered liberal and conservative today, which is in itself extremely recent (the last hundred years, roughly).

I respect your opinion and obviously believe you have the right to say it. But to turn it into a petty partisan debate (which is what you are doing) is asinine and misses the bigger picture. Any political ideology can support censorship. Is it not conservative to place security over liberty and that would include to protect the good of the people you should be censored in what you say?

Is it not censorship when conservatives say liberals in the 1960s who protested Vietnam should "love it or leave it?" or that if you do not support their causes, you are unpatriotic? I do believe Gov. Sarah Palin said last week in North Carolina that she is glad to be with the pro-Americans in the pro-American part of the country, as anyone who does not share her views is unAmerican and not living in the "real America."

In any case that, like liberals being offended by someone calling a black man "colored" or "darkie" (as that is your apparent point of attack with aim at political correctness), is not true censorship. Censorship would be saying you do not have the right to burn the American flag without being charged with a crime.
