sorry if this has already been discussed before but i can't help but be amazed at this video...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhlERjW0bhw
...basically, the guy is asked "what is it that orbits the Earth?" the Moon, the Sun, Mars, or Venus. now what kills me isn't that he didn't know the answer (though that's pretty bad in itself) but when he asks the audience to vote on the question over 50% of them say the SUN! then he picks what the audience does!
now i gotta ask...if the audience voted honestly (not trying to get the guy to guess incorrectly) then what the hell are they teaching in schools in France? i learned about the Solar System back in 2nd grade! we've known the moon is the only natural thing that revolves around the Earth for a loooooong time. wtf is up???
edit: TOO CLEAR THINGS UP...please don't take this thread as a "ridicule France" thread. it's not. i really DO have a curiosity about the intelligence level. knowing that the Earth orbits the Sun is basic science, yet half of the audience's voted wrongfully. so i guess the REAL question should be....DID THE AUDIENCE VOTE WRONG ON PURPOSE OR BECAUSE THEY HONESTLY DIDN'T KNOW?
