Because from the previews (i didn''t watch the first 4th season episode yet) it seems like the characters were combined and now there's only one of each

So, thus far, the changes in the Peter-less timeline are....

Walter is afraid to leave the lab, as opposed to enjoying his freedom after leaving the institution.
Olivia killed her stepfather.
Our universe's Lincoln Lee never crossed paths with Fringe division before last week.
Alt-Broyles is still alive, so the way the Olivias got back to their universes is clearly different.
Astrid works out in the field as Walter's eyes and ears.
Walter seems really pissed at the other side, as opposed to being more apologetic.

Lord if you watch the first two episodes it's pretty obvious and will answer any question you have about the universes. Anywho I like the addition of Seth Gabel and his character but I cant wait till JJ is back on the show more permenently.

If you mean remember this season, and not reset back to the end of season 3, yeah.

I wouldn't be shocked if they did go back to season 3, to the moment where Peter (doesn't) disappear, but I'm not a fan of reboots like that.

I say keep things the way they are. This way likeable dead characters are alive in both Universes if thy need them. But at least let the core characters remember Seasons 1 - 3

Obviously when he comes back people won't just poof remember things. But by Seasons end let the core characters remember Seasons 1 - 3 & I already said keep these new Universes but restore the memories of the core characters by Seasons end

Why is Broyles alive from the alternate universe?
