Who here actually thought that Ratner would do a better job than Singer? Because, I know I didn't. I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but honestly, Singer made these movies what they are and brought these characters to life with his deep, emotional storylines and character arches. Another great aspect of his movies was the fact that they were a bit longer than the actual story required, fleshing out the characters and bit more and allowing more growth.

It seems that Ratner has shortened this movie, why I don't know, to the shortest version it can possibly be to make some kind of sense. If this was a Singer film, it would be a good 2 and a half hours! Ratner doesn't seem to respect that, or possibly understand that. X3 seems to just be a lot of action with a good story but nothing really amazing. The dialogue is generic, if not corny, and the effects in some of the shots are "mehh".

As much as I am anticipating this film, I would love to see Singer come back. And, in my heart, I know that is not going to happen. But, I would much rather see Ratner do another Rush Hour movie and allow another director come along.
For the sake of argument, X1 and X3 are about the same running time, and singer directed X1, so who is to say it would have been a good 2 1/2 hours, frankly I wouldn't want a movie to be 2 1/2 unless it keeps to active, I wouldn't want a movie over two hours that gets boring and old, I'd rather have a shorter movie, like X1, which is what X3 is.

coz the movie is garbage and its only 1h25, with a lot of cheesy dialogues.

Did you see it?
If you did, I think you are the first person on the boards who thinks the final cut is garbage..

So many stupid things in this sentence.

1. Do you really think its Ratner who is shortining it? Why would he??? He loves the Xmen as a comic and a franchise, and wants to do the best possible job. Its FOX! DONT BLAME RATNER!

2. X1 was 104 minutes, and it was a Singer film. You, uh, want to explain that one?

Haven't you figured, that since you haven't seen the movie yet, that no one will take you seriously when you make ignorant statements like that?

I think Ratner made the film he wanted to make. And I won't lie. Ratner's take on Gambit does intrigue me...

If the action and acting and drama and thematics are half as good as the trailers and clips make it look, hell yes I want him to direct an X-MEN 4.

of course, only the higher ups had total ycontrol over his ass... if he had alot more free reign I bet x3 would be THAT much better....

He's an average director to me. I want someone like Singer who's godly.

That is a bold statement saying Singer's directing is godly. It's good don't get me wrong. I think Ratner pulled X3 off really good, from what I've seen, and I'm sure it will be a fit ending to this so called trilogy.:)

well it's not brett his fault that Rogue takes the cure and that cyclops dies we have to blame Zak and Simon for that

As you can tell from my sig, it REALLY surprises me that I´m enjoying the stuff I´m getting from X3. I think it shows humility and recognition for Singer´s work that he decided not try to "reinvent the wheel" and keep up with the tone and style of the first two. It ain´t broke, don´t fix it.

No we don't. I'm sick of that. Blame FOX

Exactly.
You really said it nicely.

I think Ratner did a great job with the action scenes and special effects because they looks amazing!!! But character development is the issue here and most important part of the movie. I think we'll have to wait and she what he does with that!!! But I wouldn't mind if he directed more X-men movies, if he did them right!!!

The film looks very cool & action packed to me. I'm not as judgemental on the director as some are, but it looks like he did a great job action wise. If anyone is responsible for a shorter running time for the movie then that would be Fox, they will jip the fans on the theatrical version with a shorter movie & then when it comes time for dvd releases they will jip the fans yet again with a single disc dvd release & then come out later with a 2 disc director's cut.

Exactly. And they're not gonna let a director like Singer have that much power again. Although I wasn't happy with X2 either. But I did think X3 had great promise, and i think had Singer made the movie the way he wanted to, it would have been great.
