Full New G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra Trailer Coming Friday

I was more of a fan of the G.I. Joe Marvel comics, which we're pretty hardcore compared to the crappy cartoon. But as wacky as the comic got, they didn't wear lame @$$ battle-suits to fight, They were just elite soldiers. Why couldn't we get something closer in that direction?

when i look at this version of Stormshadow, its like the guys who made this never seen a ninja before...:csad:

The trailer looked meh when I saw it on my computer monitor. It looked a lot better when I saw it on TV during a commercial.

Then, during the Star Trek screening last night, on the big screen, the G.I. Joe trailer actually looked more interesting than the new Transformers one. I mean, both movies look like cartoons and loud noises and everything, but I'd say they both have an equal chance of being good fun in the end.

Something that alot of people forget, is that Hollywood is not making this movie just for the people that grew up on it. This is a big budget movie, they want everyone to want to go see it.

Exactly, we saw what happens earlier this year when a "geek friendly" property is brought to the big screen for the hard core fans. Big opening weekend and then a steep dropoff. Studios don't want another Watchmen.

geez i thought they'd at least fix that nasty nickelodeon goo on the eiffle tower....

it actually looks worse now

the green goo is already a bad concept on paper. i am seriously shocked to see this in a big budget movie.

whats wrong with oldschool? like big rockets?

Yes, why can't they just blow **** up? Same effect, less cheesy.

To be fair, the attack did clearly begin with a big ass rocket.

I saw the trailer on the big Imax screen last night before Star Trek.

The sold out crowd erupted in LAUGHTER when the trailer ended. I heard comments like "worst CGI ever", "they raped my childhood" and "who thought this was a good idea?"

Even in hi def, even on an Imax screen, this movie looks horrid.

The fact that the first thing you see in the trailer is Destros unmasked face, is a slap to any ARAH fans face.

The green slime is just...horrid. Maybe if it was 1984 Id be impressed.

The battle suits...I know that people are saying that it is just temporary...but it seems as if there are two designs of suits. That means the first ones dont work, so they get a sleeker design. There shouldnt be ANY Iron Man suits at all!!

I want this movie to go away. If I had hundreds of millions of dollars, Id buy this from the studio, burn it, and start over.

^Well, you went to see this with a geek crowd. Go watch it with some people during a matinee and see what the reaction is.

There is very little General Audience buzz about this film. Of course, its still months away, but there doesnt seem to be that HOLY CRAP excitement that comes with a landmark new action franchise. There has never been a GI Joe film before, so people should be stoked about this film already.

Because the battle suits are awesome.

I don't see anything wrong with the acid actually....

I mean they can't just shoot a tomahawk missile at the Eifel tower to bring it down???

The green acid is stupid.

Those are nanites actually...Destro is doing it to show the nations what it can do. It's not about destroying the tower, it's about showcasing the technology they created.

I guess, but if he shoots like 200 hundred tomahawks at Paris that would be sending a message too. :cwink:

You see, they had to use nanites to explan how Destro gets his mask for part 2.

I mean...you CANT just have Destro show up already wearing a mask...right??

I kind of liked the trailer when I first saw it, but when I saw it in the theater it actually got me really pumped. Seeing it in the theater rejuvenated my optimism for this movie. I remain hopeful that this will be "The Mummy" Stephen Somers, and not the "Van Helsing" Stephen Somers.

I'm betting it's gonna be "The Mummy Returns" Stephen Sommers.

My sister and I agreed that that green stuff eating away at the Eiffel Tower looked cheap and s**tty. As a matter of fact the un-special effects looked quite awful overall, especially the so-called wow shot at the end, the horrible CGI human battle suit flipping scene.

The cheapo SFX wouldn't have been a problem if the previews on the whole weren't generic, unexciting and wholely derivative. Simply, it looked like a cheap version of Transformers.

I see uneventful boxoffice in this movies future.

The only thing that I noticed when I saw this trailer on the big screen that I didn't spot when I watched in on my computer was that up close, Sienna Miller's face looks like it's been rubbed raw with sandpaper. Other than that, still looks like obvious CGI, probable bad acting, heavyhanded dialogue, Batman-meets-Iron Man costume designs, blah blah blah.

This movie will suck.
