Funny Games

A Clockwork Orange 2 is what popped into my head with that trailer.

I didn't really think it looked that good... It makes it out to be some scary thriller, but the guys are almost comical and they show up just like friends without a mask or anything... a much scarier version of this is The Strangers which debuted a trailer a little while back...

I just watched the original version of this in my class today. And judging from the trailer it will be an exact remake. The movie is intense and very interesting. Good themes and what not. It's the same writer/director as the original, so I hope he said no to Hollywood and doesn't change what happens.

So I will be checking it out, though I know how it will end. :word:

That's the point. They don't seem like the kind of people who would do what they do in the movie. It throws the family and the audience off guard. But by the end you totally think that these 2 guys could and would do what they do.

this movie looks...... funny?

lol

no, it looks great

I saw a trailer at There Will Be Blood, damn this looks mega nuts.

I'll see anything with Naomi Watts. She has that effect on me.

I've always wanted to see the original, but this looks great. I'll definitely check it out. When does it come out?

Just got back from seeing the remake and I found even better than the original. It's shot for shot the same as the orignal. the only difference is that it's in English and not German. So, the only reason I like it more is because of the actors. Everyone in this movie did an excellent job. And don't listen to some of reviews that call this torture porn and similar things. Yes, it's violent but all that violence occurs off screen. And I can see many people disliking this movie, because it doesn't follow normal film conventions. A main one is Paul breaking the fourth wall. He acknowledges the audiences a few times and there's another incident that breaks the rules, but I let you see it for yourself and you can be the judge if it's unique or just plain stupid. I found it unique and I really felt myself caring for the characters. Gets a solid 8/10 from me. And if your interested in the original, the only difference is the language and the actors like I said before.

My theater doesn't have this yet. Crapsies. This flick looks soooo good too.

I just saw a TV spot like 5 minutes ago saying it's playing now. I forgot all about it until just now.

Damn, just got back from this. I loved it.

Very well done.

And TDK Trailer was with it! :yay:

They reviewed it on Ebert and Roeper, and they hated it. Especially funny being that most critics liked it.

Actually most critics hated it, which is why I didn't go see it.
I was torn between watching Horton and Funny Games and knowing that it had bad word of mouth I decided to go with the first.
But I'll be checking it out with a rental cause I think it looks really interesting.
