So, at this years San Diego Comic Con, Bruce Timm stated that there is a 50/50 likelihood that "Justice League: Worlds Collide," which would take place between Justice League and JLU, would happen. He also said that he's looking forward to doing more DCAU dtv's in the future.

Now those really sound great and all, but I would love a new series in the DCAU. None of this Teen Titans, The Batman, or Legion of Superheroes BS. I want the real deal. Preferrably a GL corps series.

Sound good?

A GL Corps series would kick all kinds of ass.

World's Collide? I'll probably pick it up when/if it comes out.

Hell yeah, it would.

A GL Corps series set in the DCAU would be suck. I liked the DCAU a lot, but their handling of the Green Lanterns was not my favorite aspect. I mean, there's no Hal Jordan.

* trying not to make a crack about "The Green Loontern" *

You don't know what you are talking about. There is a lot of unexplained material that could be covered in a series like this. I actually thought the first 3:47 of this sequence was great:

There was very little that was covered in the comics with the GL corps and Hal Jordan together anyway. The title mostly coveres the exploits of the corps outside of that. In addition, you get to feature the other Lanterns. The "Justice League" and "Justice League Unlimited" series are modern day classics. They didn't need Hal Jordan to make it any better.

One problem is that The Batman was supposed to mark the beginning of a new DCAU. Here's hoping that office politics don't start getting literally cuthroat.

It is actually "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" (a different series).

the dcau should have ended with epilogue...

everything after was pretty much filler and will always be filler.

as for DTVs, they are never good because there simply isn't enough time to flesh something out properly, only roTJ and MOTP have been decent ones. Saying this, a dtv with JLU would be interesting based on the size of the cast.

Bruce was always going to do the near apocalypse of 09 to be fair...

i dont know if a green latern one would work based on how it is structured in the dcau

I'd like to see it continue. My top 5 choice swould be

1)Supergirl- I felt the JLU's interpretation of the character was probably her best incarnation.

2)Green Lantern-I know Hal only showed up in that one time travel episode for a few minutes, but if you doa GL series you can explain who he is and where he was, and have him team up with John and Kyle

3)New Gods-They're already well established in the DCU, I'd love to see more about the prophecy of Orion being the one to destroy Darkseid as well as episodes featuring lesser known characters and introducing the Forever People

4)Dr. Fate-He was awesome in every appearance and this could focus on the magic side of the DCU with appearances from Zatanna, The Phantom Stranger, The Wizard Shazam etc.

5)Birds of Prey-I Love the dynamic they had between Dinah and Helena and would like to see it continue

Agreed.

They should get Nicolle Tom to voice her again.

It was be a good time to do this if they green light the GL movie.

Aren't the DC animated division planning to do something big with this series? :D

4)Dr. Fate-He was awesome in every appearance and this could focus on the magic side of the DCU with appearances from Zatanna, The Phantom Stranger, The Wizard Shazam etc.

I like this idea. Another is Shadowpact. Make it the magic JLA. It could Fate, Captain Marvel and Etrigan on the team together.

5)Birds of Prey-I Love the dynamic they had between Dinah and Helena and would like to see it continue

It should faithfully adapt Simone's run.

I had actually hoped that the Justice League/JLU might feature Hal Jordain in Parallax mode, just so he could have some degree of recurring visibility in the DCAU, but of course that didn't happen and it's too late to do anything about that now.

Filling in the gap between JL & JLU might be interesting to watch. I always thought it was a shame that they didn't use "Brainiac Attacks" to fill in the gap between the end of Superman TAS & the beginning of Justice League.

Anyhow, I'd like to see a GL corps series, but whether or not we get one may depend on whether or not the proposed Green Lantern film itself materializes.

a bridging story between JL and JLU would be awesome.

plus Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes

and a Timmverse Teen Titans

Hal Jordan is a very integral part of the Green Lantern Corps Mythos. Sure, you could make up a bunch of stories about the GLC having some wacky adventures, and you wouldn't need Hal, but to get to most of the really good stories, you do.

Actually, scratch that. They have Hal, except he's an artist and his name is Kyle. So I guess they'd need Kyle. Unless they have Kyle become Parralax, destroy the Corps, and Ganthet gives the last ring to Hal Jordan.

See, the whole thing is just too messed up. There's no way they could set up a GLC continuity that was anything remotely like that of the comics.

Theres no way to continue GLC continuity. They could make it independent of the Timmverse but keep it Timm style

Or maybe the DCUA just needs a good ole crisis :oldrazz:

Why is Worlds Collide always in talks as the favorite for a continuation of the DCAU? The story, which I've heard is supposed to be about the Crime Syndicate, is basically a rehash of the Justice Lords without the added depth of the bad guys being more fascist and heavy-handed rather than actually evil. It sounds so "been there, done that," and there's not really much to tell between JL and JLU.

I would rather see a continuation after "Epilogue," or a movie focusing either on a popular supporting character (like the Question) or someone who didn't get a lot of attention during the series.

It's supposed to deal with the gap between the two shows, is the big reason (plus, it's presumably already written/maybe some other work done on it, so it would save resources).

I agree. Also, I'd forget the recent Legion cartoon, and continue with Supergirl and the Legion she met in JLU and decided to stay with, and start from there.

I really hope that movie gets made.

Are they? If so, you're looking at a VERY happy fanboy

Yep and The Spectre

I'd LOVE to see that, thye could introduce Savant as the initial villain Dinah and Helena team up to take down in Gotham

There was a vague rumor in an article about the DC animated division's future plans few months ago. It was in a thread here.

There is definite interest. Who know whether anything will come from it.

Yep and The Spectre

Would DC let the Spectre be a star character on a cartoon series?

I'd LOVE to see that, thye could introduce Savant as the initial villain Dinah and Helena team up to take down in Gotham

That whole run would make a great cartoon series. Timm and Dini should adapt it. They could even tie it into the JLU continuity.

"Tales of the Green Lantern Corps" and "Green Lantern Corps" featured Lanterns from other sectors. Although Hal Jordan would be considered a part of that group he was not featured in all of those stories (especially in the current series). And who was talking about wacky adventures? This could be taken seriously and can be very entertaining. GLC is on the level of a Star Wars a Battlestar Galactica or a Stargate type of series and could draw a respectable if not large audience and following if it was written that way.

i really dont see what's the big deal between jl and jlu,

it's quite obvious they are only recruiting members and setting it all up, there's nothing there that could add any real depth.

there's only one thing i would like to see and it's alfred's death and maybe what drives batman to eventually leave the justice league again but i believe that is the near apocalypse of 09

But the DCUA crew had hinted at a bridging story. The fact that its written is part to why I want to see it. I wouldnt even have thought of it unless they had brought it up. Just sounds like fun.

so this will star the magnificent seven for the most part right? i liked the JLU, but one of my misgivings with that is there were too many characters and you hardly saw the seven work together anymore.

I think they should make an animated Crisis on Infinite Earths, using characters from different animated series (Super Friends, Timmverse, The Batman, etc.) as the different "worlds."

:super: :ww: :gl: :batty:

That would be freaking awesome.
