Future continuations of the DCAU

well i guess not. but im sure whatever Timm does i'll like. Point is, give us a BoP show!!!

well kyle rayner is his sucessor already in dcau. that isn't something i've suggested, it's something already in place

But you're suggesting running with that continuity, as opposed to a GL show that dumped all that and started fresh.

That's like saying that if any change is made to the chronological order of what occurs in the comics, you make core changes.

I'm not saying they should act in the same way as their counterparts did in the comics as they all have different motivations and goals. I am however putting them in familiar situations.[/quote]

The things that a person goes through in their life very much determine who they are. So if you change the sequence of events that lead to Kyle becoming a Green Lantern, then you change who he is as a character. You change his motivations and goals.

Kyle being chosen by the ring, then going through training on Oa with the Guardians, makes him a much different character than if he were pretty much randomly selected, then forced to figure out what to do on his own, and have his girlfriend end up dead in the process.

does it ultimately matter in the long run if stewart ends up doing the emerald twilight storyline instead of hal?

Are you kidding me?! Of course it does! That was a major part in the evolution of Hal Jordan's character. Going insane and killing all your friends is not something that ends up "not mettering in the long run".

Again, I compare to Star Wars: does it ultimately matter in the long run if Obi Wan ends up doing the Darth Vader storyline instead of Anakin?

i'll get back to your own point but the thread is indeed about new shows in the dcau continuity.

all shows so far in dcau are legit and draw upon past of future events that will happen in it. If you want to make a gl show with hal being a central character with a similar comic line up, then it can't be a dcau show.

and yeah, i wouldn't mind obi-wan becoming darth in an alternate universe if obi wan has been set up as the chosen one.

again, it wouldn't be the same things that motivate john that motivate hal from going all renegade but you can see the potential in the character. if that is the only chance to have such a story told in dcau, then so be it in my books.

I want the Near Apocalypse storyline... '09 is coming up...

That's kinda my point. It shouldn't be the DCAU. Have you followed this argument at all? I'm saying the DCAU handled the Green Lanterns absolutely terribly and that any new Green Lantern show should be as far from it as possible. Keep up, buddy.

Birds of Prey isnt a bad idea. But if they do that I would want Green Arrow, Wildcat, and The Question to be more than just special guests everyonce in awhile.

well the thread title is about future continuations of teh dcau...

if you want a dcuniverse separate movie like JL:frontier or superman:doomsday, with an authentic emerald twilight storyline, then why are you posting those thoughts here?

and why are ya hating on stories adaptations that could be used in the dcau?

it's like you're arguing for arguments sake. Especially since you started us on this path, I didn't nag at your post.

Last time I checked, this was a discussion board. If i'm opposed to an idea, am I not allowed to express my opinion? What would be the point of this place if everyone just agreed on everything?

but your idea isn't about ideas of continuations of the DCAU.it's about starting again.

if you don't like the dcau, then don't watch it. :)

"Rebooting" the GL Corps just got done in the comics... there's no reason that it can't be done in the DCAU. As far as continuing the DCAU, GL is the only way to go, imho. The Earth is kinda tired.

Gimme NIGHTWING dammit !!!!! :cmad:
