FX Atlanta

Not surprised with Donald Glover opting out of his overall FX deal. I figured 4 would be the last. Glad they're not stretching it out

Hopefully ends on a high note

I’m surprised but glad their ending it on their terms and when it’s still good. Looking forward to the final seasons.

Oh wow, really? Gonna miss this show. It's been...such a treat from start to now. But with Glover's increasingly busy schedule, plus a lot of the actors getting bigger, glad they chose to end things on their terms.

It's sad seeing this great show come to an end, but like Closerframe said at least we are getting two seasons this year and I'm fine with that just like I am with Stranger Things and Ozark.

I don't mind them splitting up seasons as long as the wait isn't too long in between.

Exactly. Glover has that big deal with Amazon now, so any new shows from him will be on there for a while. When they announced 3 and 4 filming back to back it was pretty obvious that would be it. Not to mention all the main cast has been getting lots of other work, and were likely ready to move on.

Won't be surprised if Glover's Amazon deal doesn't go far tbh. A lot of his deals and collabs seem to end relatively early or before going that in depth. The FX deal (remember he was going to do more than 1 show), Adidas, and I believe he had an NBC one. He already dropped out of the Mr. and Mrs. Smith thing Amazon is doing too

Reviews are out from SXSW and of course they’re great. I’ve only read a little of the deadline review but the headlines are all saying it’s still a masterpiece.

First two episodes were pretty fantastic, especially the premiere which felt like something straight out of the insane, twisted mind of Jordan Peele which made me love it even more lol. God, have I missed the sheer insanity and weirdness of this show and I couldn't be happier that its finally back.

All I got to say is I love this show so much. Fantastic episodes back and the show is still on point.

The wait was worth it. Yeah, I got some serious Jordan Peele vibes from the first episode. Atlanta has this ability to just creep you out while making you laugh at the absurdity of it all at the same time, if the Teddy Perkins episode was any indication.

But Earn sneezing and sniffling and being exhausted...I bet a bunch of people, just like me, were probably thinking "Aw man, Earn's got covid!"

Wow...what a premiere. The first episode is equally terrifying and entertaining. I need to collect myself before I start episode 2.

I was watching "Three Slaps" thinking the Glovers and their team have created a truly compelling allegory about the slave trade with supposedly well meaning white folks "rescuing" black folks only to subject them to servitude and starvation....and then I read an episode recap. HOLY SH** THIS IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY!!!! I had completely forgotten about the horrible Harts.

Great episode(s)! And I loved the intro describing whiteness as a social construct that's for sale rather than an actual human condition.

The intro is based on a true story as well. The black town that ended up underwater that is, not necessarily the haunting lol.

Three slaps felt like a dark modern take on a Brother's grim fairytale. Crazy that it is loosely based on real events. The Free Hugs joke and terrible bland uncooked Chicken jokes cracked me up. The mom making the kid dance was also really funny.

I knew the Dutch episode would feature something to do with Zwarte Piet (Black Pete). There is no way they would not feature that weird offensive Dutch blackface traditional character.

The season premier had me crying from both laughter and sadness given the true events it was based on. I honestly thought it was going to end a really dark way.

The second episode had me dying throughout.

Also this sh** is gonna haunt my dreams.

A cameo from the elusive Jai Paul.

Capturing Jai Paul on film is rarer than a big foot sighting
