Exclusive: 'Y: The Last Man' Recasting Lead Role of Yorick as Barry Keoghan Exits
I’m... kind of okay with it?
Just in what I’ve seen of his work, I really didn’t see him as Yorick at all. He could’ve proven me wrong, but...
So it's not...quite at American Gods levels of setbacks yet, hopefully.
Oh dear. Oh well.
You know if they’re looking for a slightly dorky looking but very talented british actor getting a lot of Oscar buzz George McKay from 1917 is still just there
So they lost the original showrunners and now the protagonist. Which means the pilot will be completely scrapped. Real smooth production. At least they still have the monkey.
Until the monkey quits over creative differences.
Oh well maybe it’s all for the best. Start with a clean slate. It’s always hard to walk into someone else’s production when the lead has already been cast etc
'Y: The Last Man' FX Drama Finds Its New Leading Man
Warcraft and Pride alum Ben Schnetzer has been tapped to star in the cabler's adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan's beloved comic series. Schnetzer will take over the role of Yorick Brown — the last living cisgender man on Earth — from Barry Keoghan, who departedthe drama starring Diane Lane in early February.
Schnetzer's credits include Snowden, The Book Thief and Epix limited series The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair.
Hmmm ok I’m not sure. I’m not sure I’m seeing Yorick there. But whatever this is getting to be like the flash with all the delays so maybe it’s better not to get too attached to anyone
‘Y: The Last Man’: Elliot Fletcher Joins FX’s Drama Series
I was going to say that this seemed like a betrayal of the concept until I saw that this was a transgender man. Still seems to undercut the premise (I haven't read most of the comic, though), albeit in a very logical way and one that offers its own storytelling possibilities.
Hmm, I hope they do it respectfully.
‘Y: The Last Man’ Starts Production With Cast Changes As Ashley Romans & Olivia Thirlby Join FX On Hulu Series
Nice. Cool to see all female directors and department heads too making this.
Aw, man, they lost Imogen Poots.
Still rather nervous about this, considering all the behind the scenes upheaval, but that logo’s hot.
Damn we don’t have Hulu in my country
It will be on Star in Europe - if I got it right, Star will be rolled out in February and contain the Hulu originals (as far as license agreement allows it)
I don't want to be *that* guy, but shouldn't this thread be in the DC TV section?
it comes to Disney plus in some countries - so nah
Christ, I hope this lives up to the book.
that is a DAMN good teaser wow!
