...been reading (and enjoying immensely) the new Marvel Event Annihilation and I've got a question that bugs the crap out of me....(bugs..lol..unintended pun)

I stopped reading Silver Surfer many many many (well you get the point...I'm old) years ago. My memory of the character and his relationship with Galactus is spotty at best. ..what I do seem to remember is that SS would seek out uninhabitable worlds for Galactus to devour and that he turned on Galactus when he tried to devour earth..... but I don't remember SS ever believing that Galactus was a "Natural Part of the Universe"...or in SS's own words "Galactus must feed, such is the way of "

or per AirWalker "Galactus is because he must be "

I guess my question is whether or not it's been confirmed in print that Galactus is indeed a required/necessary, nonetheless brutal part of the Universe.....or are The Nova Corps correct in their view that he's simply a Universal threat and should be exterminated if possible?

Some people in the MU theorise that Galactus is a natural force of destruction in the universe, just as Marvel's version of Death (woman/skeliton in a purple cloak who Thanos is always trying to bang) is the natural force of death. However, this is just a theory. Others simply see Galactus as a very powerful creature who eats worlds. Silver Surfer, most likely, feels that Galactus is a natural force, but doesn't need to commit mass murder to sustain his diet of planets.

It seems like he's made peace with Galactus. What do other people think?

Kirby's Big G is still classic.

Galactus has been portrayed as the personification of the concept of a races fitness to survive. In time he comes to each world and if that world can find a way to survive him then they earn the right to survive.

He's also been potrayed as the Harbringer of the end of all that is, to bring all things to the End, just as his universe died. I think Galactus exists for that purpose, just as he was told he would be when he was reborn.
