Easily the best live-action fantasy show I've seen.

I'm curious, having never read the books, how fantastic is the setting? So far, it's been pretty tame fantasy-wise. With the exception of some zombies and the mention of dragons.

I think so. I didn't catch the name. They were in the first episode. Looked kind of undead.

The young Tyron's scene was...interesting, as was that horse beheading. Looking forward to Viserys getting his crown.

Can anyone give me the details on a "red wedding" scene from the novels?

Yeah dude, it's best to experience that cold. However there are spoilers out there if you must.

The non spoiler jist of it is:
Magic pretty much died in Westeros thousands of years ago. Dragons died out about 150 years prior to the start of the series (and even those Dragons were puny shadows of what they once were). However, the white walkers are just the start of magic slowly creeping back. Slight spoiler territory
The fantasitcal stuff is a slow burn. We'll get there, not so much this season but next and when it happens it's :wow:

great episode this show is really getting me hooked with last 2 episodes

Great episode. The horse beheading was shocking. This episode brought back all the memories of how much I hate Lady Stark.

Yeah, the beheading almost caught me off-guard. Also, Dinklage needs an Emmy.

Dinklage is definitely the best actor. Although littlefinger is also a fun guy to watch.

Those sky cells. terribly inventive. Absolutely horrible to imagine.

It only gets better from here. The Vale I didnt like because they changed so much about it from the books to the screen aside from it being on a cliff where it cannot be attacked.

The Skycells should have hardly enough room for you to lie down on the floor. It literally should end 2 feet from the entrance ... not give the prisoner enough space to move. I always imagined a honeycomb effect from the look of them hanging off the back of the Vale.

Yeah they're really the only things so far that I wished they would have paid a bit more attention to how the book described them. They were truely vertigo inducing just reading about it."The blue is calling"

The Imp is currently my favourite character... I love his wit and how honest he is.
"if you are not a cripple, then I am not a dwarf. My father will be happy of that."

I wish they hadn't changed this part either. The cells scared the crap out of me in the books. That throne looked really cool. Was the Captain of the Eyrie (forgetting his name) played by the actor that played Ashur in Spartacus?

If Ned weren't there the Imp would be leagues ahead as the best portrayal by an actor on the show. I think the weakest is Lena Headley.

This was awesome, but what the the **** why did that solider stab Stark that's a ****ing pansy way out. I mean seriously if Lannister had that planned i would be pissed but it looks like he didn't and was just as mad. Other than that, great episode. I'm loving Lady Stark and Tyrion more and more with every episode.

Yeah Dinklage steals every scene he's in. Littlefinger (played by Aidan Gillan) was awesome as the Major on Hbo's The Wire. He hid his accent so well that i didn't even know he was Irish...

creeptastic!!

Because the soldier was a d!ck, hence Jaime's reaction. Say what you want about Jaime he is still an honorable Knight. I thought Jaime was going to kill that guy for ruining his "fun" with Ned. Although Ned did hold his own for a bit but he looked like he was getting tired before that idiot soldier poked him with the spear.

You have to admire the Lannisters for their loyalty to each other.

So in the books is Jaimie a bada@@ or something? What about Ned Stark?

ok never read the books but why does it make a difference if they go after Daenerys or not

if they dont Robert beleives the Dothraki will attack but if they kill her what does he expect them to not attack out of revenge LOL
