Did a dino really wink at the camera in Fallen Kingdom? I'd love to see that clip. I've only watched that horrible movie once and that was in theaters. I don't think I can take a rewatch.

Yeah but I will say that as dumb as that was, that whole sequence of the Indoraptor breaking out was one of the more fun parts of the movie. Ted Levine was also one of the better villain characters in the World movies.

With a script by David Koepp, the new movie is touted as “a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island.” The new film has also been labeled as “Jurassic World 4” and “Jurassic City.”

So Nublar or Sorna again? That kind of counters the Jurassic CITY promise.

I think they totally could and should. People didn't hate the Spinosaurus itself as much as they hated it being a replacement for the T-Rex. I didn't see anything wrong with them introducing a new big carnivore in the franchise but replacing the T-Rex in the logo for JP III was a mistake, for starters. But I'd still take the Spinosaurus over any of the new dinosaurs introduced in the World movies.

JP/// also stated that the Spinosaurus wasn't on InGen's list, which was an intriguing hint that to my knowledge (I know it pops up in Camp Cretaceous but I haven't seen that show nor am aware if it's the same one) was never elaborated on. I'd love to see it coming back, but unfortunately I don't think it's unlikely.

That's the kind of small lore scenes I loved as a kid. Just a throwaway "It wasn't on their list, what else are they hiding?" just makes your imagination go wild. Personally I really liked the Spino (even if he acted more like Jason Voorhees stalking our characters over the whole island) but in retrospect it probably was a big mistake on their part to have him kill the T-Rex in that fight scene.

As much as I love the T-rex and the velociraptors I would be fully on board retiring them from the next few films because we've had more than enough of them and every time they bring them back its just diminishing returns and the magic wears off. There's plenty of other cool dinosaurs you can give more focus on without inventing new ones or reusing the old ones we've seen time and time again. I also feel like at this point we're so far away from the level of the original that it almost feels like mockery to try and evoke the same emotions and whatnot by bringing back the T-rex or the velociraptors. Like a band that had some amazing albums 40 years ago but have been on a huge decline who make a new album and re-record some old hit songs. It's not gonna be the same.

I saw a fan theory video on YouTube a while back that provided a theory as to why the Spinosaurus was stalking them all through the movie that I can get behind. Basically how it goes was after the group landed on the island and the mercenaries went off into the jungle on their own to scout the area, they encountered the Spino nest with a baby. The baby then attacked them and they killed it, which would explain why that one guy who didn't make it back to the plane was injured when he was running away. The noise from that combined with Tea Leoni yelling on the megaphone attracted the adult, which then went into a rage once it saw what happened and that's why it stalked them across the island. It's slightly farfetched but I can buy it as headcanon. It's no less believable than the T-Rex in JPIII killed being an older version of the infant from The Lost World as far as fan theories go.

Again a little farfetched but I don't think there's any sign of an injury on the Spino from the plane hitting it which is probably where that theory came from.

I also feel like any Jurassic Park fan theories I've seen are centered around JPIII because there isn't enough happening in that movie. It's the most barebones out of all of them.

The human characters in the Monsterverse films are always little more than caricatures anyway-- pretty much in line with Snyder's capabilities. Cool soldiers doing cool stuff to take down cool looking monsters.

Lol maybe. But I have more faith in him understanding the Superman character (even a "realistic" take) more than Snyder ever could or wanted to.
