Is there a particular sequence—or series of sequences—from any of the Ennis-era stories you’d like to see included?
If they use Jigsaw as the villain, I’d like to see them lift the sequence from “Up is Down and Black is White”, where the main villain has Punisher’s family’s grave dug up, and videotapes himself ‘relieving’ himself on the grave & bones.

every time i read any ennis story i just can't help but wonder why they don't have him write the next one. he's got such a great, well defined style, and it's very cinematic.

I'm glad Ennis doesn't write the movie. If he did then, the Punisher would hardly be i the movie. It would be nothing but the villain saying c*ck, f**k, c*nt

I think its way too early to see anyone going pee pee on the Castle family for a movie. That worked in the comics because they've been around for such a long time, if they do it right away in the next movie it will just seem silly.

Even though it isn't an Ennis comic, there's a scene in Circle of Blood that I would really like to see on film where the Punisher chases a guy through the subway station and he throws his head throw the window on the train door, and then the door opens up and *SNAP*!

I wouldn't mind seeing Detective Soap....

But, I don't like Ennis that much. I wish they hadn't based so much of the movie on his stuff.

It's better that they use Ennis stories. Half the stuff from the 80's and 90's suck.

They should have based most the movie off Year One and Circle of Blood.

Some of it was based off Year One. I don't mind that they borrowed heavily from Ennis' stuff. Now they need to do a completely original story for the sequel

There wouldn’t have been any action at all if the movie were more based on Year One. Circle of Blood.... let me guess..... the brain washing part in that story.

A completely original story for the sequel.... that’s not going to happen. For one Tom has said that he wants the movies to be as much like the comic book stories they base them on off as possible.

The movie didn't have that much action in it either until the end which was the only part based on Year One. Plus if Billy Russo was a character in the film, the continuity with the sequel would work better when he returns as Jigsaw.

Circle of Blood would actually probably be better for a future sequel when we see him escaping from prison.

There were some action. It just wasn't an 1980's overloaded action movie. Before the action scene at the end in the beginning the Punisher shot those two guys, killed the first hitman with his knife, blew up that boat, and the fight with the Russian. Now those of course were short action scenes. And I could see fans *****ing as they always do if the movie was just based on Year One.

And that's the only part from Circle of Blood that they can use for the next movie or future Punisher movies.

No way, I really want to see the subway station chase in a movie, where he follows the hitman onto a train and they fight hand to hand and he throws his head through the door window before it opens.

I will have a geek-gasm if they put that in a movie.

Yeah that would be cool. But that's what they should do. Not based the movie on only one Punisher story but take scene and lines from all over the 30 year run of the comic book.

I just don't want anything blown out of perportion like the way his family's death was in the first.

You do understand that not eveything from the comic book is going to be in the movie right????? And I saw nothing wrong with how the family was killed. The comic book has it happening way too fast. Because the way his family was killed I've read many reviews from people that it did or almost made some people cry.

The movie or the comic book?

I would have liked it if they had incorporated the Born storyline into the opening scene; of course it would have had to have been updated to Desert Storm or Afghanistan. The Tyger would be a good opening scene for the sequel and, I think, the Cell would work well for the climax. Hell, why not incorporate the End into the final sequel. Basically, I'd like to see all of the Ennis one-shots incorporated into the Movie franchise along with Year One, Circle of Blood, In-the-Begining and Up is Down. Yep, that would be my idea of the perfect Punisher trilogy.

The MAX comic books would be cooler if they were adapted into an animated series.

Also, the way Ennis reestablished the origin in the park with the gangsters putting a hit on the mob boss and shooting randomly all over Centeral Park in broad daylight and killing a bunch of civies including Frank's family is perfect for a movie. Too bad that was made like a year or so after the movie.

I think ennis would write a great punisher film. His max version is by far the best and his punisher film would be definatly interesting - we would be sure of real scumbag villians rather than money launderers for one thing...

Definetly.

Couldn't agree more.
