Why does the Punisher respect Daredevil?

The reason Frank dislikes superheroes isn't that he sees them as getting in the way, it's that he sees them as unwilling to do what is necessary. Frank's mission is to rid the world of the people he takes on; supers just web them up and leave them or put them in the power of other supers, or worse, leave their fates in the hands of the public.
At heart, I don't think Frank trusts anyone to do what's right for them, so it's not just supers he dislikes, it's everyone. It's like he's stuck in the state of misogynistic husband and overprotective father for all time. He looks at heroes the same way as he looks at us. We're his kids, and he has to protect us.
Daredevil on the other hand has proven up to the task of fighting Frank on multiple occasions, and at the same time he knows what it's like to kill. Daredevil puts people away, and what I think is more inspiring is that he keeps his own house clean.
Gotta become the kingpin to keep people safe? So be it. DD will go to extreme measures, just like Frank.
In the end, Frank respects DD because he sees him as closer to an equal than almost anyone else in the MU.

He respects him because he's the only attorney on the face of the planet who would take his case.

What is Punisher's relationship with Spider-Man like? Does he like Spideer-Man, or respect him? Can someone tell me?

I'd also like to see Punisher team up with Captain America, see what their relationship would be like.

Punisher probably just sees Spidey as kind of an obnoxious kid who's in over his head. He does respect Cap a great deal though; he even said so in their first encounter in Captain America 241. However, he also made it clear that he would hurt Cap if he got in his way. This relationship is sure to be expanded upon in the next issue of Civil War, as well as the new War Journal. The preview for WJ #2 shows a Captain America, who may or may not be Rogers, overseeing young Frank's basic training, so their relationship potentially goes back to Castle's Marine Corp days.

I think The Punisher pretty much hates Spider-man and has no respect for him. Their first meeting didn't help either.

Cap he shows respect for because of their pasts being very similar but as people now, I think he'd shoot him just as quickly as he would Spidey.

That can't be Rogers because he was frozen since WWII and Frankie is a Vietnam vet.

That's what I was thinking, even though Rogers was unfrozen during Veitnam in our time, he snoozed through it in Marvel time. Still, it could be a massive retcon that takes the Punisher out of Vietnam. It could happen; remember how Tony Stark used to have been in Nam? Or could just be one of the psuedo-Caps.

I definitely think the two have some underlying respect for one another. They've helped each other too many times for that not to be true.

Respect for one another meaning who? Cap and Punisher or Spider-Man and Punisher?

Because Daredevil( much like Captain America and ever more so than Spider-Man) is about Justice, not primal revenge!!!

Spidey and Punny.

I have to admit, I agree with Bullsear on this. Frank sees them (superheroes) as a flawed system. He knows from personal experience that "certain" steps (and that may include popping a couple of caps in somebody's booty) need to be taken when dealing with certain villans and he knows that DD will take those steps along with wolverine. He feels he can relate to both characters, I personally think that DD and Frank's relationship is one of the best in all of comics. It would be cool as hell if some how frank's able to bust out DD from the negative zone prison in CW. I think that would be cool!

I've always thought that Daredevil secretly wishes he could dispense "justice" they way that the Punisher does and that the Punisher subconsiously thinks that he would like to be more like Matt.
