it's not like they don't test the blood before transfusion. SOME gay people take part in higher HIV risk activities, but the vast MAJORITY of them are safe (which can be said of heterosexuals).

it's so closed minded to wipe out an entire category of potential donors based on sexual preference. especially at times of blood supply shortage (like 9/11).



aside: man, imagine how pissed fred phelps would be if he had to get a transfusion, and the blood he received came from a gay man.

The stupid Blood Drive keeps calling my house to donate, but I think I've had enough of that. My friend actually told me to tell them I was gay and they'd automatically blacklist me.

ALL blood is tested before use. Banning gays from donating is ludicrous.

It's because the gays don't have normal blood, their blood is green and highly acidic and even if you do survive the blood will change you and on the next full moon you'll become a gay and wander the night feeding of the brains of christians. I read it in my ronald regan high school text book so that should clarify matters.

HIV test takes time and costs more than the blood being donated.

I can't give blood myself because I come from England. Something to do with CJD.
