Hi everyone,

I was thinking, if being a geek was a religion where would be our mecca(s)? As in, the places we as geeks are obligated to go to at least once to stay true to faith?

I was thinking...

- E3 and San Diego Comic Con
- Akhibara in Japan
- The hobbit holes in New Zealand

Lars Homestead in Tunisia.
Petra/Canyon of the Crescent Moon in Jordan.

Anything associated with comic book movies.
Conventions.
Birth places of creators.
Metropolis, IL.

Yeah I would definitely love to see a few scenes where avengers was set

I've been to Metropolis, Illinois a bunch of times. It's a cool place to go to any time of the year with the Superman museum, giant Superman statue, and other things to see (like the local newspaper being called THE DAILY PLANET)....but it's really nice to go to when they are holding the Superman Festival.
The giant statue.

New York of course dominates modern culture for many reasons. However, when I went there as a young man, part of me kept thinking "This is where Spider-Man lives!". Not to mention that when I found myself in Hell's Kitchen, I immediately thought of Daredevil. So, I think NYC deserves to be considered a Geek Mecca along with its other obvious accolades.

Disney is trying to be a geek mecca with Star Wars Land. If you're into Harry Potter or the Simpson's Universal Orlando is one.

I'd also put Kennedy Space Center down as one.

The Smithsonian in DC probably should also get a mention

Oh yeah definitely, can’t believe I forgot that one!
