General Arrowverse Discussion

As far as involving shows from the DC Universe, I doubt that will happen.

The purpose of Crisis was to clean up the DCU and streamline it to one. We will likely see many Earths as they will be destroyed by the Anti Monitor.

Also I hope they use the Hall of Justice from the Invasion crossover as their operations hub to deal with the Crisis.

If they are to do Anti Monitor in live action, go back to Legends of Tomorrow where Atom fought a giant robot. That is how I would do Anti Monitor as he would be a gigantic threat.

Monitor also needs to turn Diggle’s wife Lyla into Harbinger.

Characters I'd like to see in Crisis on Infinite Earths

Somebody Save Me!
Ok, ok... I Mainly want to see Tom Welling & Michael Rosenbaum return for Crisis on Infinite Earths... but if we can get Justin Hartley back as Green Arrow and Erica Durance as Lois Lane... that would be super!

90's Flash Returns!
We die not get enough of him in Elseworld's! More!

Diggle goes Green
David Ramsey as John Stewart/Green Lantern... I've been hoping for this one for years! Even if it's just a brief scene.

More Bat-Family
Maybe bring in the Titan's Robins... (or Chris O Donnel Robin?) Jensen Ackles as Red Hood? I would love to see Batman finally appear, but he still seems off limits sadly. Make it happen, somehow!

Don't forget Dean and Teri; Keaton; Routh (mind you LOT have him?) etc :P

Hopefully the next crossover will feature a Superman who isnt a punching bag who doesnt have believe in His friends.

Hopefully they bring back the 90s flash, he was the coolest part, yet was in it for 5 minutes.

Characters I'd expect to see in Crisis on Infinite Earths

Mark Hamill Joker

He's already Trickster.

The Voice Actors
Michael Jai White, Clancy Brown, Neal McDonough

Super Routh
He's already present.

Mark Hamil as Joker... so obvious, but I totally forgot. That would be amazing!

Overall, really enjoyed the crossover. I thought the plot was silly and hard to follow sometimes but these shows have never been about intricate storytelling and more about the characters and these guys really shine when they come together and interact and banter with each other. You could really tell these actors are all BFF's with each other in real life and their chemistry onscreen pops.

I LOVED all of the easter eggs, references and self referential jabs at themselves (i was cracking UP at Grant Gustin's "My Name is Oliver Queen" intro in part 2). And the action scenes were tons of fun. Batwoman was great, Superman and Lois were great.

My two biggest peeves were 1) they wasted 90s Flash. That actually legit pissed me off. After all this hype, thats all we got of him?? He should've had a substantial role in this crossover. Peeve #2, and this is a smaller one, I was hoping Gotham City would have more if a disrinct visual identity and not just look like every other city they film these shows in. And they also didnt give Batwoman a theme! How could Blake Neely drop the ball on that, he nails every other character.

But other than that, I had a ton of fun with this crossover, looking forward to thebig one next year!

Did Flash get a theme in his backdoor pilot?

They put some stock footage from Chicago and then when they film it looks like every other corner of Vancouver. I mean, even in something like the alley, couldn't they have had some little digital set extension or something?

Away from 'which retro DC stars could return', I wonder if COIE will be the usual 3-4 (5 inc Batwoman, possbly 6 with Black Lightning?) episodes, it's a pretty big story with a lot of characters.

Granted it probably won't be a completely direct adaptation and characters will be swapped around.

Also is it significant that it's been announced early - will be there be a big build up? Animation, hints in the different shows leading up to the Fall?

He didn't, no, but then Flash was on first, and I guess the showrunners didn't want people (who wouldn't have had seen the promos) to know what the three episodes were about until they'd got into them.

Outside of a quick flash of old footage incorporated I don’t see Routh or Cain coming back as Superman. Unlike John Wesley Shop who can be explained away as looking the same on 3 Earths as three different characters (who are all the same bloodline like the Wells). You can’t have a Kryptonian on other Earths looking like human characters on Earth 1 (Ray Palmer) or Earth 38 (Jeremiah Danvers). They will have their own doppelgängers on other Earths. Sure they could easily have different names or be metas on other Earths but they can’t suddenly be Kal El’s doppelgangers on other Earths.

Anyone can potentially take the role of Superman within the multiverse.

If the same person can be Jay Garrick, Barry Allen or even Henry Allen, then a different person (or even the same one) has the potential to be Kal-El or Ray Palmer. Within a multiverse, an infinite one at that, anything is possible.

The potential is pretty massive with this, they should try and get as many heavy hitters they can.

They work because they’re the same bloodline. Routh is from the Palmer bloodline he’s not even Kryptonian. Therefore it doesn’t work.

I don't think you fully understand this infinate multiverse concept. :p

In any case, as far as these shows go, it doesn't need to make sense. We've had the Legends reduced to living puppets, and we've had an Archer swap bodies with a Speedster, so the idea that Brandon could portray (a) Superman again isn't exactly out of the question. ;)

Hopefully so, a hint here, a tease there, foreshadowing that becomes more obvious as we get closer to the actual event.

Wonder if this'll show up in Crisis...? (though can people actually movie in this thing?)

Really don't like that design at all. And the 'S' looks like it might be even smaller than Routh's - and I thought that was too small!

I never watched Lois & Clark until last night. I noticed it was on the DCU app, so I watched the pilot. It's pretty good. I like Dean Cain as Superman and Teri as Lois, not as good as Welling/Durance to me, but I have only seen one episode so far.

Not sure how well they have aged, but it might be cool to see them in Crisis on Infinite Earths. Although I think if you get Welling/Rosenbaum/Durance it'll be a much bigger deal, and playing the theme song in Elseworld's feels like such a tease. Plus Amell being friends with Tom and Michael helps.

Anybody who watched Smallville or knows anything about Welling, it seems unlikely he would ever really wear the suit. I think if they bring him back as Clark/Superman, would he be playing an alternate Clark/Superman? Maybe in his timeline Lois dies, and he's more on the verge of becoming Injustice Superman, or something to cause him to stop being Superman for a little bit. I'm just thinking of ways for him not to be in the suit. But maybe after all these years he would be okay with wearing it. Who knows? Sorry for long post. I still love Smallville after all these years, so I'm hoping to see these actors in the role again at some point in time.

I was thinking about how the multiple earths could represent different retro DC screen versions. I am aware we will be lucky to get even half of it, as the Arrowverse has their own characters they’ll want to showcase:

BATMAN 66: Burt Ward and Julie Newmar are still with us, maybe they could cameo as elderly Dick Grayson and Selina Kyle morning their Batman’s loss?

WONDER WOMAN 77: Lynda Carter has already appeared in Supergirl as Olivia Marsdin

DONNER’S SUPERMAN: Marc McClure cameoed in Justice League and Helen Slater Is Supergirl’s adoptive mom in that series.

SUPERBOY: According to imdb John Haymes Newton seems to be more active as an actor than Gerard Christopher

BURTON/SCHUMACHER’S BATMAN: A long shot - Michael Keaton’s film career seems to be in the rise again, Chris O’Donnell is on NBC, the rest are either too big stars or retired (Jack Nicholson)

THE FLASH OF EARTH-90: Established in Elseworlds, John Wesley Shipp returned as an alternate Barry, he could return? Amanda Pays, Alex Desert, Vito D’Ambrosio and Mark Hamill have all played Earth-1 characters of their 1990 characters. Someone suggested Hamill could play his Joker in live action which would be super cool!

LOIS & CLARK: Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher have both completely different characters on Supergirl. They have both expressed interest in doing a ’25 years later’ Lois & Clark thing but WB/DC are obviously doing different things with Superman. An appearance as their original roles on COIE would be nice

SMALLVILLE: Erica Durance and Laura Vandervoort have different roles on Supergirl. Stephen Amell made social media go crazy when he posted a picture with Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum, but that turned out to be a meeting for his wine company. How cool would it be if they could finally get Welling in a Super suit? Also Alexander Luthor was a major player in the original Crisis comic book.

BIRDS OF PREY – An obscure one, about Oracle, Huntress and Black Canary protecting ‘New Gotham’ from crime. Batman disappeared after Catwoman’s death at the hands of the Joker, voiced by Mark Hamill.

THE DARK KNIGHT LEGACY: Aren’t all the stars too big for a CW show?

SUPERMAN RETURNS: Brandon Routh is of course The Atom on Legends of Tomrrow, a well established character. I doubt they’d able to get any other main actors back.

OTHERS: Gotham ends this year and the DC Universe streaming service is already building its own universe of shows. To get more obscure, there were also Swamp Thing and Human Target shows. Also a Superman allegedly built for Tim Burton’s Superman Lives (but worn for the 2003 FlyBy screen tests by Henry Cavill and Brandon Routh) was taken out of the archives for a recent DC Daily. It’d be cool to establish it on screen here, it’s well-known in fan circles from leaked photographs.

I don't think Tom has outright said he dislikes the Superman suit, but that's just the vibe I've always gotten. Or maybe he strongly believes in the Superman curse. I'm not sure. But at this point in time, does it matter to him? I honestly don't care if he comes back in that big red jacket and blue shirt and jeans to be honest. It could be cool to see 2-4 Supermen on screen, all with their own flavor of Superman at the same time. Tyler Hoechlin, Tom Welling, possibly Dean Cain & Brandon Routh.

I think Welling could play a broken Clark/Superman who's lost a lot in his life maybe. Idk. This is if they even get Welling to come back.

Or it could be interesting to see a twist, and the Earth they go to Lex is actually the hero and Clark is the villain.

Maybe even a scenario where RosenLex decides he has to help/team up with TomClark for whatever plotpot.

Keaton coming back as Batman/Bruce would be awesome. Heck, just go to the Batman Beyond era. That's a goldmine for it's own live action series. In fact, I think they should really be pursuing that in the DCU app. I'm pretty sure people would subscribe that normally wouldn't just for that.
