Alright. I'm done with this thread.

If you don't understand there is no way I can explain it to you.

Enjoy your real job.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

what is your point? sales are down everywhere but i dont see toyota or mercedes asking for help.

And that is why the U.S. automakers are in trouble. People are not buying cars. It hit them harder because they have the smaller market share. If this goes on like it is, you will eventually see Toyota and Mercedes asking for help as well (maybe not from America, but they will be asking).

I just realized, Since the economy is going down, and the Oil Prices are falling, I think we need an Big Oil Bailout Package. Think of the revenue they lost, when they were buying oil at $140 a barrel! We need the Tax Payers to bail them out too!

thats the spirit!

Then you should try a profession that pays more....bartending doesn't pay much unless you're doing it full time....drop the DJ and acting BS and get a real job....

Right because doing what you love is totally bull****.

I wonder how many comic book writers and artists who've created our favorite characters have been told to get real jobs...

Well, if doing what you love pays the bills, go for it.

..but not everyone gets to do that....You're not entitled to have a job that you love....

Id imagine a great many were told to get real jobs.

Doing what you love isnt bs at all. But lets be realistic here. Are you planning on being world famous for creating the perfect mojito? I just dont understand the comparison to Stan Lee when you're bartending.
Dj'ing in clubs, in Chicago? You already know that ain't never gonna pay the bills, never.DJ's from around the world are invited to spin records at clubs in Chicago and still get burnt on pay by janky promoters.

You just need to be a little more clever.Use that bartending job to network with people. You never know who might need a guy on Saturday to help paint his kitchen or w/e. Maybe you can organize some texas hold em nights with the lushes and clean up on that. You always gotta find the angles in w/e you're doing.

I'm not the bartender/dj in question.

I understand both sides. We all have to find a balance between doing what we love and doing what is best for how we want to live finacially. I think telling some one to "get a real job" is a little harsh though.

no one said anything about entitled...

and no one is doomed to work at a job they hate either...

some would rather be broke doing what they love than be well off doing something they hate.

and this was about minimum wage. i dont see what richards choice of employment has to do with that...

Besides, the real jobs are on the Bering Sea and the waiting list is long as hell

I would like to see them fail for once.:applaud

Ah my bad , I didnt realize it was Franklin.
Franklin wtf? You're way too intelligent to be a bartender.
Your dream sucks.

:oldrazz:

You're questioning the intelligence of bartenders? I suggest you rent a little movie called Cocktail.

:woot:

No..but when you even mention someone "not doing what they love" you're suddenly a ****er for doing so.....

I don't love my job, but I don't despise it and the pay is enough to where I can do other things that I like...like annual trips to San Diego for Comic Con and all that

than go you.

but suggesting he get a real job is a bit ignorant, considering the fact that you do travel to comic con every year...

but that's not work....it's a benefit of selling out to The Man for a chunk of change....

I still say the Senate should only vote to provide assistance to the one company who is showing the most forward thinking business model (Hybrids, fuel efficiency, alternative fuels research)

but the artists and creators you want to see at comic con would not be there for you to see and enjoy if they took your advice...

and i agree help should only be given to those who show the most promise of putting that capital to good use.

i have seen very little from GM that tells me they meet these criteria...if they get assistance they will likely continue with business as usual

I think they will get the bailout...regardless of the negative reaction they have got from congress.

hahaahah

All three CEOs - Rick Wagoner of GM, Alan Mulally of Ford, and Robert Nardelli of Chrysler - exercised their perks Tuesday by flying in corporate jets to DC. Wagoner flew in GM's $36 million luxury aircraft to tell members of Congress that the company is burning through cash, asking for $10-12 billion for GM alone.

.....

GM and Ford say that it is a corporate decision to have their CEOs fly on private jets and that is non-negotiable, even as the companies say they are running out of cash.

Been doing some homework on this issue, but I believe if any of the big three were to file chapter 11, they are legally not obligated to honor old debts or warranties prior to chapter 11.

BUT, here is the BIG BUT, it doesn't mean they can't do it still, because of the importance of not wanting to lose patronage. The bankruptcy courts understand this inherent value, and so do creditors. So my point is, in the circumstance that either of these big three hit the curb, it doesn't mean you warranties are dead automatically. In the short-term after the bankruptcy you might run into some issues, but I think in the long term, I am pretty certain your warranties will remain intact.

If anyone sees any holes with this feel free to add, I don't want to mislead.
