Do it!

So Murnau's skull is now serving as a protective cup for JJ's wedding tackle?

That's very good for business, and I'm sure it's gotten him out of a few sticky situations in the past.

I saw General Rogue One News jumped to a new continuation thread? ...I thought news and info must really be pouring in now, and the hype getting interesting!

Then read the actual topic people are discussing. :funny:

This is not the Hype Manny Both-Hanz died to bring us!

You're implying the hype hasn't been interesting in the last 2 pages?

Borsk Fey'lya was a Bothan, and look where that got him. He's not doing much better than Murnau.

At least Borsk made sure the Yuuzhan Vong wouldn't find a skull to go all BvS on.

Are Vader's eye-lenses red(matching ANH design) or am I just imagining?

Warning major-geek-level observations alert!:
Plus the lower breathing-vent also seems smaller like ANH. ;)

Yeah, there have been reports that they're recreating the suit from the original film, red lenses and all. He also has the red lenses in Rebels, so it might be made canon that he has one version of the suit and gets a slightly altered one in Empire.

Yeah MSW was reporting that a while back. They got the guy that created the original ANH helmet to come back and even add the flaws of the ANH helmet in there, including it being a little asymmetrical. The red lens etc.

^ Love that they're recreating the original suit.

Just occurred to me-- Imperial March, or the ANH "Duuun... Dun dun DUUUnnnnn" since it's set basically right on top of ANH in the timeline? They'll probably go the March, but it would be fun to get a nod to the other theme during the movie.

I don't think there is any problem using Imperial March here. Since it is not just Vader's theme it's also really the theme of the Empire itself. I could see them using it.

I actually hope they do use it.

I've been thinking this for a long time about Mads character (Jynn's father) and it seems Bloodline hints to it:

Though pretty obvious I will bet that Mr. Erso creates the flaw in the Death Star making it easy to destroy with small fighters. Since we know he is the main creator behind it, in Bloodline some of the Centrist Senators are talking at a party talking how that it must of been some time of inside job since why would the Death Star have such an easy weakness to exploit.

What Ive read said Mr. Erso's work made the Death Star's weapon a possibility. The empire got ahold of his work and used it to make the weapon array on the death star. Similar to how the Nazis got ahold of scientist's rocket research and applied it to missiles instead of space shuttles. If this is correct then its unlikely he would have been designing the whole death star.

And unless Im misremembering, in Bloodline those Centrists think it had to be an inside job because they dont believe Luke could have done what the Rebels say he did or that there was a "convenient" port. They think the story is just BS propaganda from Leia, the former Rebels, and the Populists. Thats why they think it must have been an inside job. They are trying to think up more "rational" explanations that don't involve Luke Skywalker, beother of Leia, doing something that seems impossible. But we the viewers know Luke did do it so we have no reason to believe anyone on the inside was responsible for the destruction of the death star.

There's no need to convolute things by having Mr. Erso somehow getting the Empire to install a small exhaust port just in case down the road some force wielder comes along that is crazy enough to attempt to put a torpedo down it. Keep in mind that what Luke did wouldn't have been possible without the Force. The port was small enough and the defense guns and the tie fighters effecient enough so that none of the other fighters could get a torpedo in it. It took Luke using the Force to get that torpedo into that port. If Mr. Erso got the empire to put that port in hoping someone would exploit it I would think he would have made it so that a normal person could exploit it instead of making it so that only a force wielder could do it. The fact only Luke, a Force wielder, could do it is exactly what makes me think neither Mr. Erso nor anyone else put it there in the hopes someone would exploit it.

I'm not sure of the details of what he does with the Death Star, it is not super clear, I'd say that would be clinging to close. I think he's imprisoned and forced to work for the Empire too if I remember correctly. I may be wrong though.

It's not convoluted. Even though it was a near impossible shot, it was not purely impossible. Only one other got a run at it. Of course our hero did that, but to me it may be possible that Erso attempts to put a chink in the chain-mail so to speak. Something to give a possible weakness to. The top brass in ANH were pretty damn certain it was indestructible, some of that could have been ego, but also they may have thought their plans were full proof on it. If someone were to attempt to put a weakness in the design, he would have to make it small in hopes that someone got through. Now again I'm not saying this will happen, but it would be interesting. Because if he made something so big and noticeable the Empire would have probably closed it up. It may have been a desperate attempt to try to give it some sort of weakness without drawing attention. Because like I say below, some of the brass through ego or belief, think the Death Star is unstoppable, and it's original designs may have been as such.

Bloodline hinted that it may have someone that helped them. Now you say, that was them rationalizing, maybe, but at the same time we do know that the droid in this film K-250 or K-2S0 as MSW believes it really is an imperial droid, we know the infiltrate the base. There very well may have been help. And having the lead be Erso's daughter I would say in some senses he feels terrible at what he's created unintentionally or not and is trying to rectify it with something they may not notice. It's all in the execution but I don't think it needs to be convoluted if they do decide to do something like that.
