Animation Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal | Adult Swim

Man, what an episode that made my jaw drop as always. This episode made me feel sympathy for the giant slave as we find out why he does what does for the Egyptian Queen, even Spear felt bad!

This show does really well at balancing quiet character moments before hitting the fan with brutal violence and action sequences! This truly is one of the craziest things on television, and I really hope we get a S3 of Primal as this is one of my favourite shows in years!

MVP: Fang’s eggs finally hatching

I also wonder what role the Viking Chief/Fire Demon will play in the last two episodes as Spear/Fang/Mira also deal with the Egyptians.

Also, did anyone else notice the animation shots being recycled over and over during that montage?

I definitely noticed the recycled animation, not that it takes away from the awesomeness.

Just two episodes so far with Kamau and I already love his character. It especially speaks volumes about the quality of the writing when you come to adore his character without the need of any dialogue whatsoever.

I'm also excited to see how the Viking chief is involved in the last two episodes (if he's in the next one, at least.)

I’m really bummed out S2 is coming to an end in two weeks, but I’m positive it will end with a bang!

I really, really hope we get S3 of the show, but worried as Adult Swim didn’t promote S2 until July.

More people should watch this show! :csad:

Man, I wish this show was treated like some of your more popular, traditional anime's out there and we got like 20 to 30 episodes instead of just 10 but then again maybe I'm just being greedy.

I really wish it wasn't coming to an end so soon though, especially with the chance of a S3 being very shaky but regardless kudos to everyone for upping their game and giving us a pretty amazing Season 2 anyways.

Like I've said before these writers and production artists just aren't getting enough credit IMO.

I’m hoping if this doesn’t get a S3, then something like an animated film continuing from S2 depending on how it ends.

I would have said HBO Max, but that was before many other animated programs were axed on there. Then again, Tartakovsky has a deal with them, iirc.

Whether as a continuation or going the anthology route, I’m down!

Genndy has a new show coming up so who knows. I hope we get more primal. So most of the time when they show a different culture I can tell or get some idea of who it could be. This last one, the blue hat people; I have no clue. Anyone know who these blue hats are?

I also wonder if we’re going to see the giant demon again before the finale. (Surtur?)

Also, did anyone else notice the animation shots being recycled over and over during that montage?
I noticed and it made sense. I think it was supposed to reflect that those fights meant nothing to them. There was no feeling, just resignation. They were in auto mode.

Anyway, this show is visceral. So many different feelings. I felt so bad for the giant. And so angry. I hate that queen.

And what a cliffhanger. Damn.

Anyone think the Viking will show up and kill most of the Egyptians?

Maybe, but either Spear, Fang, Mira or the giant need to kill the queen.

Also, I want one of the spin offs focused on an ancient civilization. For me, either Greece or Egypt would be great.

Man, I’m really bummed out that next week is the season finale, and possibly the end of Primal. This week’s episode had some awesome animation, sound design, the score was epic and haunting, action sequences were brutal, and some beautiful character moments between the slave and his daughter. Also, hooray he killed the Egyptian Queen!

That final shot made my jaw drop!

I really hope if this doesn’t get a S2, they don’t end it on a cliffhanger, which I suspect they will.

Yeah, there is no way I see them wrapping everything up in this 22– 30-minute season finale. I'm sure whatever we get next week will still be a pretty awesome finale, but if it ends on a cliffhanger and if we don't get another season than I don't see how it will feel satisfying in the slightest, but I am at least optimistic.

I loved this week's episode regardless though.

For some reason the only scenario I can see the Viking/demon play a role is if he attacks the village seen in the promo, but there would be no way, anyone could stop him.

Plus, would S3 deal with Surtur if it didn’t go the anthology route.

As much as I enjoyed the Primal Theory, I really did, I’m starting to wonder if that detour was necessary based on the worldbuilding during S2 with Spear, Fang, and Mira.

That's actually a good question that will depend heavily on how that finale ends IMO. As of right now I don't think that episode took too much away from this season, but its hard to tell.

I believe they have done a pretty great job handling the progression of the story and the overall structure for S2 so far, but I never expected we would get this much scope/worldbuilding.

Still, I want to hold out hope for S3, because I don’t even think many people even watched S1. Plus, Tartakovsky has a deal with HBO Max, so you never know.

I just really want to see more of this world, and it truly is the most epic thing I’ve seen on TV/film this year. (sorry, Rings of Power/House of The Dragon).

Either way, I plan on watching both seasons back to back when this done!

I'm happy that story ended well because my theory was that the giant was going to die and Mira and Spear would raise his daughter. I'm happy Fang's babies didn't die either.

This is a kind of show like Game of Thrones, in a way you fear for the characters lives.

I know there's a chance this show will be cancelled, but the first season won the Emmy for outstanding animated series, and it could win next year for this season too. So I'm staying positive.

Hopefully we'll get both season 3 and a spin off.

Could be possible, as I can’t imagine that a lot of people paid much attention to S1, aside from die hard fans. And this still got S2:
