this topic is about the location of Metropolis, which in smallville universe is in Kansas. But then when you pick up a map of america[or use commen sense]and look at Kansas you will realize that placing Metropolis in kansas is idiotic. Metropolis has a huge harbor and seaport, hell it even has docks. Uness thier is an ocean in the middle of America, putting metropolis in Kansas makes no sense. in the comics and movies and cartoon, Metropolis and other fictional cities in Dc universe are placed in locations that are geographly sound, and not upsurd. Metopolis is on the east coast in the other versions, makeing the reason it has a seaport and bays logical. It doesn't bother me that much in the show:yay: , i just laugh sometimes when I realize for metropolis to be in Kansas a good chunk of America would be replaced buy the ocean.

Kansas City is in Kansas and it has a huge port and big buildings.....

You don't have to be on the ocean to have a port.

but thats the thing, you can clearly see the ocean in various shots of the city.

Actually what you've seen is a body of water, not necessarily the ocean.

thanks Brainiac 8, you were right. You think its the Kansas river that flows buy the city?

there has never been a shot of an "ocean" in Metropolis in Smallville. They've established shots of ports and a body of water but there are many cities in the Midwest like Chicago that are on huge lakes, and ones like St.Louis that are right on the Mississippi River and they all have huge ports.

The only other time I've seen a port was in Static, but Clark was supposed to be in Seattle

the location of metropolis in smallville is just one of the things people just dont care about..
so what if its in Kansas and not New Jersey/Delaware/Maryland like it is in the comics/movies.
the thing about smallville is that it only changes thing no one cares about .. and has good storys and actors..
unlike a certan other TVseries set in the DC univers in Gotham.. about 3 chicks.. a show i hate.. so bad.. just so bad..

What you should gripe about is all of the scenes with mountains in the background.:wow: :wow:

There is a Kansas City, Kansas right across the river from KC Missouri, and it shares the same deep water port as its neighbor.

Granted, its not nearly as big as it's name sake over in Missouri, but it's a fairly sizable city in Kansas with a port.

I don't really see it as much of an issue. Just proof that their not in the actual location, but then again, what show ever is these days?
