The Force Awakens George Lucas Appreciation Thread

There's only 4 SW films: The OT and ST09.

"Well luckily, REVENGE OF THE SITHS is the last puzzle piece for star warses so give it a 7 or 8 year cool down period and maybe the nightmare will be over, and these ponytailed *******s will fixate on some other god damn thing, like lord of the rings prequels or something." - A man who reads the flames.

i'm gonna start a trevorrow appreciation thread :o

"In this thread we'll talk about the man who is responsible for some of the most perfectly serviceable TV shots delivered on the big screen. Thank you, Colin Trevorrow, for the successful transition of SW to TV."

Well...at least he's not Joss Whedon? :o

Low blow, Snow. Fan or not, Whedon's given us some iconic stuff over the years. Trevorrow wishes.

I will not speak ill of what he's done in TV, I've not seen enough of it to judge and I've heard good things from people I tend to agree with. Film, on the other hand...I'll keep ripping him a new one. For example, how this episode of Jessica Jones is better looking than anything he's directed. Same goes for Trevorrow. :o

TA > JW. I mean, TA is not high art, it's not even in my top 20 CBMs, but I sure as hell wasn't facepalming all the time.

Eh, I like the bright and colorful aesthetic Serenity had, and I love his one-shots. I think he's a fine director. Tevorrow's visuals have no character whatsoever, imo.

I'll take everything Joss has ever done, aside from that one Alien movie, over Jurassic World.

AoU is down there with JW. In the gutter, along with Shaq's Steel.

I always forget Serenity exists when having these conversations, so I can't speak for it. When it comes to the two Avengers films, I feel they're just as ugly as Jurassic World.

Joss lost me a bit with season 6 and 7 of Buffy. At some point he made those decisions to go with what he did with Buffy and Spike, and it didn't benefit either of them.

[BLACKOUT]I like AOTC and ROTS more than both Avengers movies and JW.[/BLACKOUT]

What about Much Ado About Nothing? His direction made that the funniest adaptation to date, imo.

He wasn't the showrunner there. That Spike BS was all Marti Noxon. He was busy w/ other shows at that time. Mainly Firefly.

I saw it, but it just left no impact whatsoever on me. It was just one of those movies for me where I saw it...and that's about it. :funny: I don't recall hating it, but I don't recall liking it, I just...recall it existing. :funny:

Snow does not like Joss, not at all. When he stuck up for Gunn, that probably did him in.

Well it was a pretty great adaptation, imo.

That he let Marti Noxon do that is enough for me. Joss, even at that point, was still reading the scripts. Those last two seasons are like a bad fever dream as it has some of my favorite material, while still slapping me in the face. :funny:

Yeah I get that, but Joss is no James Gunn. They're just really old friends. Gunn couldn't give us one good female character to save his life. Whedon gave us one of the greatest female characters in all of pop culture history, along with several others. They should not be lumped together AT ALL, imo.
