Georgia Governor Signs 'Unprecedented' Gun Rights Bill

Webhead there are extreme situations where it will be obvious who is the bad guy, just like Sandy Hook. But in most cases having everyone around you packing heat possibly is just a mixture for trouble. Let say for instance I law abiding citizen finds out his wife is cheating on him with his best friend so he goes down to the local watering hole to confront him. Things get heated and both individuals start shooting at each other. What happens when other people in the bar who are armed too decide they should be the ones to end this? What happens when other patrons are shot by the crossfire? When the cops arrive how will they be able to tell which one is in the wrong? This is going to cause a lot more problems than it will solve.

There are tons of people in all 50 states that have concealed weapons permits and carry guns legally. Yet for all those gun owners where are all these stories of local man saves others because he was carrying his gun? Yes there are a few stories here and there but the majority of crime committed with guns happen so fast and the perpetrator usually target people that they are pretty certain don't have guns so this law is moot

Thank you for being reasonable and not attacking me about it.:) I agree with what you're saying, I get it. I think I came off more passionate about it than I actually am.:funny: I enjoy shooting guns for sport, just because gun powder smells amazing, but I would never want to shoot a living thing. Unless it was trying to hurt someone I care about or hurt my comics collection, then I'm going full Rambo.:oldrazz:

Seems like most of the mass shootings occur in "no gun zones" So I'm not opposed to having armed people in schools.

Honestly you both are so convinced there's no possibility I could have any valid points, that arguing is pointless. You've ignored where I clearly stated I'm not pro violence, in fact I'm anti-violence, you just keep focusing on "OOOH HE LIKES GUNS, HE'S WRONG."

I like both of you as people and I hope this doesn't change your opinion of me, but arguing about it is clearly pointless, so I'm not gonna argue about it anymore.:)
Don't mind me. Read my response in the other gun debate. Despite my hyperbole and sarcasm I'm not anti-gun.

Right, because nobody gets shot in their own homes, or accidentally kills their kid thinking they were an intruder. Oh wait, statistics show that's exactly how most gun deaths occur.

Case in point my dad is a concealed weapon carrier and usually has a 9mm on him. In all my time growing up he only pulled it out once. My dad has a bit of a lead foot and road rage, one day he was cut off by a young black man who had actually been avoiding another idiot who almost hit him. I saw this but all my dad saw was he got cutoff. Well my dad proceeded to speed up and get in front of him and then slam on his brakes. Naturally this pissed the other guy off. A minute or two later my dad pulled into a parking lot and was trying to get out but my stepmom was trying to keep him in the car. When the young black man came up and tried to explain to him that it was another persons fault that he cut him off my dad had already drawn his weapon. My dad called the man some choice words (he is a bit of a racist) and made the kid lift his shirt up and show him he wasn't armed. Point of the story is it only takes someone a millisecond to make a bad decision without having all of the facts.

Also my dad is a captain for Delta and they now have a program were the pilots can legally carry guns on the plane but he thinks it is too much of a hassle so he doesn't do it

It will end in someone buying a bazooka and hiding it under an oversized trenchcoat claiming it's a concealed weapon.

Or they'll be far less subtle about it like this genius in Walmart.

Because you know, his freedom is more important than your freedom to not be terrorized.

And to be equally fair, he bought it in WalMart.

But a gun nonetheless. And WalMart, making his crime twice as bad.

It may not have been this guy in particular, but I've seen several instances of people "demonstrating their 2nd Amendment rights" and police had to be called because doing that is just stupid, and the guns were actually real and the guy had an open carry license.

It's still a jerk move to scare people like that in public because you think you're a responsible gun owner.

I like the argument that pro gun nutters put forth that this will make criminals "think twice" about committing a crime.

As if logic and reason are what goes through a criminal's mind :whatever:

This won't change anything. The rates of violence in Georgia are scary high and will continue to be up there, regardless of these new rules.

Not really.

The national rate is 3.9 per 1000. GA's is 3.79

Not DarkSovereignty specifically. It likes tourists from all walks, but I'm sure you already knew that and were trying to be clever.

And while I love your gun toting maniac in your avatar, that kind of thing is best left in fiction, not reality.

Sorry, gun violence. Georgia is the 9th highest in the US.

I could see it. Most likely due to a few particular counties. Fulton, DeKalb, Clayton...

But is that per capita? If not then being 9th is a step up since GA is the 8th most populous.

Australia revamped its gun control laws after a mass shooting in 1996 and hasn't had one since. Last year the USA had somewhere like 25 shootings where more than four people died in each incident and has done squat that mattered.

This is the part where I point out that the world is actually a safer place than it's ever been.... and nobody believes me. :cwink:
