Getting a movie poster

Does anyone have any suggestions - seeing as how the movie is still months away - on how to get a Thor movie poster? Everyone is going to want one when it comes out, so I'm trying to get my foot in the door now, so to speak.

Ask someone at the movie theater. I had a friend who worked at one and he told me that the staff usually gets first pic on posters when they switch them out, but the ones nobody wants just go in the trash. Maybe you'll luck out and your theater will have a bunch of Thor-hating commies.

Yeah, I guess you could do that, too. I've never bought movie posters on eBay myself, though.

but the ones working at movie theatres arent really allowed to give old posters away nowadays are they? I remember back in the days my theater would have a large trashcan or a tabel inside with old posters and you could pick and chose the ones you wanted to take home with you. Now, or rather, tha last time I checked which was when they started switching out the The Dark Knight-posters, they send them back to the marketing company.
IMO, why the hell do they do that? Couldnt they just give old posters away? What harm is there?! Damn!
Or is it just in my country they do that?

I worked at a theater YEARS ago during the Rocky 2 era. lol The family Theater chain I worked for would give people the posters. I think in your case it's the CHAIN that might be reselling them.

Hadn't heard about that. My friend at the theater was actually my sister's boyfriend at the time. He's now her ex-boyfriend and she's gotten married to another dude, so I haven't really seen that guy in years. Things could've certainly changed in the intervening time. Corporate entities crack down on policies all the time.

As for why, who knows? Maybe they pulp them and recycle them into new posters.

I may go to my local theater and ask for the manager, and I'll be dressed nice and all. I'll explain my situation and ask if I can cut a deal with him - if there's anything I can do to get one. Clean his windows, empty the trash, shine his shoes. Anything. I've got no shame. I gotta have a Thor poster.

Nice. I have a few double sided, tho I "earned" two free ones from Sony for helping out on the FF threads here few years back.
