Ghost Rider Cancelled at Hulu; Is he coming to the MCU?

I'd love to sit in and listen to these Marvel meetings with Feige on one side and Loeb and Ike on the other side. Feige seems to be trolling these guys now.

No doubt Feige wants Blaze Ghost Rider, as did all the people that were whining about Robbie Reyes.

F***ing sucks, thought there would finally be a Latino superhero in the MCU that headlines his/her own movie/show, nope.

11years, 20+ movies in, no Latino super hero, or major character, just one support comedy relief. 20+ movies in, and there still isn't a prominent Latina character in the MCU. 20+ movies in and i still cant recall a Latina character with a speaking roll.

but progress, eh Feige?

Thank God!

I feel like either they either get a movie or get a show for D+. These Netflix, Hulu, FreeForm, ABC shows are just excess baggage at this point and another Hulu Marvel live action show just seem more redundant especially Feige is now producing tons of live action shows that the movies won't ignore.

So why have Marvel TV at all if Marvel Studios is producing tv shows? You would think Disney would streamline this **** to get rid of all the chaos and division.

Robbie Reyes or Johny Blaze?...............not even a question. Plus America Chavez will appear soon. I don't think it's a question that you start with Blaze and then branch out.

I think thats the plan. Iger made an interesting comment not long after the Fox acquisition was announced that there shouldn't be two marvels. There was speculation for a while that Marvel TV might merge with Marvel Studios following the Fox merger. That could still happen. Rumor is Jeph Loeb is considering retirement next year after the Ghost Riders cancellation. His contract is up next year. If Feige did take the character away from him I don't blame him hes probably getting tired of putting up with this kinda thing. This could be the opportunity Iger is waiting for once Loeb gives up his corner of the marvel universe to Feige he can merge what remains of Marvel TV with Marvel Studios.

Its Perlmutter still trying to live out his glory days imo. Hes lost the movies to Feige. And he still thinks he's in control and probably tried to one up Feige by getting to Ghost Rider first but Feige probably went to Iger and that's that.

I doubt it. If the Hulk situation showed us anything is they aren't afraid of recasts.

It would be a step backwards, IMO, to return to the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider after AoS pioneered Latino representation in the Marvel universe with Robbie Reyes, but I get what you’re saying. But Luna was so good: I would hate to see him kicked to the curb like that.

Streamlining these live action shows should be their priority. Its not like any of the shows that Marvel Tv have produced since Aos have been a real hit for the networks and the other streaming service/s. Okay maybe the first few seasoms of the Netflix shows were but look how those shows ended.

Also, i think it would benefit Marvel Studios, if the public are only getting their tv/streaming show dose through Disney+. I've seen every Marvel live action show since Aos and I'm just burned out, they don't crossover to the films, and the journey of the characters just doesn't feel a must watch tv to me. I'm just thinking how redundant Helstrom would be when it premiered and that Helstrom is not even a well known property to begin. Like I knew Inhumans and Runaways but definitely not Helstrom. Its definitely the least interesting show that Marvel Tv is producing. Plus Aos is ending next year and I feel like Runaways/Cloak & Dagger won't be around much longer. So yeah, they really need to streamline the shows.

Salma Hayek is on the cast of the Eternals

America Chavez? Really? Thats the answer for some Latino representation to you? They should just throw out one character? That'll shut everyone up.

Yes, Blaze is far superior, I'd be up for a Blaze/Reyes movie, but knowing Feige, Latino representation is the last thing on his mind.

Salma Hayek is on the cast of the Eternals

But her character is an alien or other worldly being. Her character is not Latina.

Everyone on these SHH boards starts suddenly talking of this when it's cancelled. LOL

I hope it's not Cosmic Ghost Rider aka Frank Castle. :cwink: (Killing 2 birds with 1 stone or should I say 2 IP's via MCU rollercoaster adventure)

That being said, before Comic Con I heard Loeb and Kevin Feige were both going to be working on Disney+. It seems around the Con though there was talk of these departments still being quite separate. The Disney+ menu has been glimpsed (I posted a pic in Disney+ forums) and one can see an obvious distinction between "MCU" and "Marvel Series and Specials" for the TV division.

Jeph Loeb expressed in an interview abit over a month ago about working on Disney+ shows but it seems these will be non-exclusive playing on Hulu and other platforms unlike the supposed premium MCU shows that are exclusive. In a way, Marvel TV has to wait on Kevin Feige to pass on certain things and I wouldn't be surprised if he put a motion on this just to put Marvel TV at arms legnth. Afterall, Disney owns Hulu where the supposed "creative differences" occurred.

.
Which is dumb as **** , to be blunt.

How you figure? Those shows seems to be doing fine from what I can tell.
Well ratings wise, Cloak & Dagger don't really bring the numbers and for every new season, I don't think they are getting more public interest. With the new D+ shows launching for the next 3 years, I feel like they are going to be left behind in terms of public interest.

I'm not as pissed as when I first read the news but still am pretty sad. I really hope a Disney + show or film is secretly in development now.

I like Robbie and am a latino myself but would prefer Johnny Blaze in the MCU first though

No question at all. The correct answer is "Daniel Ketch".

:p

Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness has been rumored to feature popular characters from alternate universes for a while now (classic Nick Fury, alternate Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver).

Now, following the cancellation of Marvel TV's Ghost Rider as well as announcement of one appearing in the MCU, there's this loose rumor stemming from 4chan being passed around about a female Ghost Rider being cast in November or December.

Bella Thorne supposedly is being looked into by Marvel Studio's to play Alejandra Jones as a Ghost Rider chanced upon in an alternate reality in the Dr. Strange sequel.

She's known by some fans as a Disney gal whose grown up now being herself despite what others may say are the rules she should play by as she's willing to explore beyond societal standards at times without being constantly controlled by them. Hence, putting her back at a Disney based movie at Marvel Studio's in this kind of role may be seen as a good collaborative option as the spirit of vengeance that is Ghost Rider.

It may be risque (I'm not judging one way or the other personally) to call her character Alejandra Jones after Robbie Reyes series ended though to avoid whitewashing controversy. This point seems to have been mentioned in comments sections pertaining to this rumor so I can't say I'm sure how much negative buzz this would cause from a PR standpoint.

While I would prefer Marvel Studio's just left the character alone for now, if they want to go wild and crazy showcasing a lot of different characters that haven't been able be seen on screen yet then I suppose a storyline involving travelling through a bunch of different realities could be the time to do it.

So Agent Carter, Inhumans and all the Netflix shows are dead, New Warriors and Ghost Rider have been scrapped and AoS is ending. That leaves Runaways, Cloak and Dagger and supposedly Helstrom. At this point I honestly wouldn't mind if they'd just give Runaways and C&D a final season to wrap things up and cancelled Helstrom to expand into a unified Marvel Studios with its own shows.

Heck no to a female Ghost Rider first up. I want to see Johnny Blaze in the MCU.

They can also still have Reyes later on as a legacy Ghost Rider much further down the line. I don't want Ghost Driver. The iconic look is a skeleton biker on... a bike!

While I suppose the Spirit of Vengeance could be written as being able to crossover through different dimensions to inhabit different individuals, I agree they should use the classic especially if appearing in more than a brief alternate world cameo.
