Interesting comments- it's strange I guess but I liked the first much better. I liked the campiness, his bike, his spiked jacket, Cage's acting, -pretty much everything better the first go-around. Sounds like I'm in the minorty here tho...

The second one was much better. Better acting. More serious. And it wasn't "so bad you laugh" like the first one was. It reminded of the first Blade film and that's a good thing. Though the animation scenes could/should have been left out. 7/10, could have been 8/10

Because I'm a comic book collector I make it a point to see the various comic book movie adaptations, even the crappy ones and Ghost Rider 2 joins the list.

If I were a diehard GH fan right now I might've ripped up all my GH comics. Whereas the first movie was played safe by giving Johnny Blaze a girlfriend and doing it by the numbers like Spider-Man or Superman the studio wanting to build a franchise for it they completely just coasted along with the sequel.

Nic Cage the older he gets it seems he'll be now among the likes of a Christopher Walken type of quirks and mannerisms, basically it felt more like a Nic Cage movie than a Ghost Rider movie what with Cage's frequent outbursts.

The movie itself was pretty boring about the only good action scene was the highway chase at the end, I think what was missing from the script was Johnny Blaze eating his JELLY BEANS!!

This movie was pretty bad indeed, but I think some people are going overboard (as usual).

I thought this one was better than the first but that's not really saying much. I'm not all that familiar with Ghost Rider comics but my main problem is that I just cannot take Nicolas Cage seriously as a superhero at all.

Understandable, although he did a much better job in this film than he did in the first one.

I liked Cage's performance much more this time around. Also the action and effects were a lot better.. I found it enjoyable. There were parts where it felt like a sci fi movie of the week but that didn't kill it for me. 7.5/10

There really seems to be no middle ground for this movie...people either like/love it or absolutely hate it. Pretty interesting.

For some reason, I see this becoming a cult classic in the future. People may not appreciate it now. But maybe someday they'll look back on it and say, "this movie is so stupid and dumb, it's fun :D."

There's not many films like this. I think people will look back on it more favorably as well.

I actually enjoyed it. I would even say I preferred the movie version of Blackout to his comic counterpart.
The gag with the twinkie was hilarious, and I just found most of the humour here worked.
As for the cage scenes, and went in looking for them, and just enjoyed Cage being Cage. Geez it's fun.

And Ghost Rider himself looked awesome. Way better than the last film. This whole thing is a vast improvement, while the first was almost unwatchable.

Wasn't as bad as Batman And Robin, wasn't as good as Green Lantern...
...

I agree, I think the movie version of Blackout is much more badass than his comic book counterpart.

I liked his comic counter part better. He went after all of GR's hosts friends and family members. He also helped kill Caretaker. I think they did a stellar job in showing how Blackout creates a dark field around his victims. The power of decay was also very cool, but having him a vampire would have been an interesting dynamic.

IGN gave the movie 4/5

Well they were in another country in this film so there wasn't really any friends or family members for him to go after, plus there's only so much he can do in a 95 minute film.

Besides he did kill Moreau, who was the closest thing Johnny Blaze had to a friend.

I hear the directors had nothing to do with the script.

Actually it's not that bad and has potential of a better sequel. 7.5/10 from me.

Get rid of Neveldine & partner for their shaky cams, pen a better script, introduce Danny Ketch as the other Ghost Rider. Ghost Rider lore is too badass not to continue.

Very true

I was really hoping that
they would solve the Dan hosting Satan problem by putting Zarathos in him instead. Blaze even made mention that if he let them take Dan he'd be "trading one demon for another" and I thought it was certain at that point. Would've been a better ending in my opinion. Satan shouldn't be someone that can be defeated like that.

Well the devil was in a body that was breaking down so it seems fitting that he was defeated easily and why do people want to see a 12 year old Danny as Ghost Rider?

I saw it last night. I thought it was a lot better than the first one. I totally DISAGREE with all these negative reviews. I bet most of those so called "reviewers" are not comic book geeks and have never read a comic book in their life, so they are expecting Shakespeare or some other unrealistic expectations.

I liked it better than the first one, especially all the action sequences. What I didn't like were some of the campyness and some of Nic Cage's over acting.

Does it rank as one of the greatest cmb of all time? No. Was it as bad as most people are saying, imo, No.

All in all, I'd go see it again and buy it on Blu-Ray.

7.5/10 for me.

Here is how i feel. this movie should have had continuity with the first film. Starting over was a bad idea. Its confusing to the new viewer who hasn't seen the first film.

the should have called Peter Fonda to play the devil again.

also, there wasn't enough action for me. the action that is in the trailer was pretty much the action we see in the film.

idris elba really brought alot to this film. he is a talented actor.

the angle of the monks wanting to kill danny was interesting. the monks seemed to be as bad as the devil himself. nice climax.

it was a good action movie but maybe the news of the budget cuts were what hurt the film. For me there was not enough action. Gamer, Crank & Crank 2 really had climax moments of action with the shaky cam style and i didn't feel that with this film there was enough of that.

but also films like this have to appeal to women, and i can see women disliking this film.

It's funny to me when people say that this film didn't have enough action, just go watch the first GR now there's a film that didn't have enough action.
