Girlfriend 'Playfully' Shoots, Kills Boyfriend

Hmm... I'm trying to remember. Which Episode of Castle was this?

It was caustic humour....
I suspect he might be a personificiation of Poe's Law given all the clues I've seen.

Anyhow this is either incredibly stupid or just plain stupid depending on the truth. It's incredibly stupid if they really were just playing a game, it's stupid if they thought they could murder someone and use this as a cover up for it.

Why the hell did the guy load the gun?

Sounds like he wanted something like that to happen.
He was using it for target practice after their mock game, and placed it back on the counter without telling anyone it was loaded. She didn't realize what happened, and accidentally killed him.

yes. it does sound suspicious.

maybe he was jealous of the guy?

this is a very sad incident ( assuming the girlfriend has no knowledge of the loaded gun ). :csad:

but that's why you don't play around with weapons like firearms!! :cmad:

This is horrible gun ownership at work. Don't leave loaded guns lying around.

You don't play around with guns. And you sure as heck don't point them at people. And you especially don't put your finger on the trigger if you point it at someone.

First thing they taught me in gun safety was never to point the gun at anything you don't intend to kill

Absolutely.

She shouldn't have aimed it at him, but why did the pistol-owner randomly decide at some point to load the gun?

Yes, if he loaded it, then he should have put it on his person immediately.

it's beyond negligient for the gun owner to have let a loaded weapon sit on the counter. the owner would, presumably, have seen them "dry firing" at one another; earlier in the day.

Dry firing the gun at each other is even more negligent, in my opinion. But as stated above, "loading and leaving" is a D U M B move too.

I used to playfully smack my friends in the face with snow balls, or we'd playfully wrestle then someone would get kicked in the nuts and we'd all have to stop. Kids these days and their "toys".....

What? You don't like to pistol whip each other for fun? Man, you are missing out!
