My PS2 is broken, and my birthday is comig up near to christmas so XBOX 360 is on my possible birthday list.

Give me reasons why I should have it and not just because of a certain game.

Just gaming possibilities and why this should be best buddy for the next 4-5 years.

1. It's as powerful as the PS3 while being less expensive.

2. You don't have to send back the controllers to recharge. (Like the PS3)

3. Xbox Live.

4. Gears of War

5. Lost Planet

6. Too Human

7. Mass Effect

8. Alan Wake

9. Ninja Gaiden 2

10. Blue Planet, Lost Odyssey, Cry-On, Trusty Bell, other crap from Japan few people care about...

11. Xbox Live still beats the living **** out of whatever online service Sony or Nintendo has planned for their respective consoles.

12. Live Anywhere will do nothing short of making Sony and Nintendo's online strategy seem obsolete.

13. HALO 3! How could you forget that game?!?!?!?

Because apparently nowadays it's "cool n hip" to be hating on Halo for no good reason.

Erm...Halo is good...but I never got into it as much as you guys have.

I guess it's because I only normally play it at my friends and he kicks my arse.

I can't play them type of games very well. :(

H3 doesn't come out till Summer 2007 I believe.

Except for the whole $50 a year thing, yeah.

Except that Xbox Live could be $200 a year and still be the better choice, yeah.

No. If it was $200, then it wouldn't be worth it. We don't even know how the others are compared to XBL, so you can't say it is the better choice.

Sony's was demoed and sucked, poor functionality and hidden fees. Nintendo's is free and by looking at it you can tell why.

Have you used Nintendo's online service?

Yes. I have a 360, remember?
Look, I'm not going to try and ***** you into seeing the truth here, but it's an industry-known fact that Microsoft has the clamp on online gaming. They know it and do it better than anyone else, and by disagreeing with that, you're not disagreeing with me, but with the entire gaming community.

That's all I'm going to say, because that's all there really is. Look at what Nintendo's doing, look at what Sony's doing, look at what Microsoft's doing.

Of course Microsoft has the clamp on online gaming. Sony did a piss poor job to get it out there and Nintendo wasn't interested in it. This generation will be different. Microsoft will not hold the monopoly on quality online gaming. XBL is still a good service, but the fact that Sony and Nintendo are offering free online services will definately benefit them. People care more about things being free than top of the line. As long as you can play games online, stuff like gamertags and gamerscore points aren't needed.

I rather play and experience for myself what each company does rather than just go by what is shown.

No matter what Sony or Nintendo try to pull out of their collective asses, nothing they can come up with can even come close to matching the greatness of Live Anywhere. Microsoft has already taken the online gaming arena and it's competitors just need to give up already and go find other venues.

If that happened, you would be paying $200 for XBL. When you have no competition, there's no limit as to what you can charge for your services. Monopolies are very bad for consumers.

taken the online arena? that honor belongs to blizzard and world of warcraft.
