Action-Adventure Gladiator Sequel | Paramount

Six ‘Gladiator 2’ Crewmembers Injured In Stunt Accident On Set – Deadline
A planned stunt has left six crew members with non-life-threatening burn injuries on the Morocco shoot of Paramount’s untitled Gladiator sequel. No details of how the reported fire stunt went sideways were provided. We hear that four of the six remain in the hospital. They continue to get treatment and are in stable condition. The incident occurred on June 7.

Hate hearing about accidents on set. I hope everyone recovers well asap.

I'm still struggling to see a justification for this film. I mean I understand why, but I don't like it.

Gladiator was never a film that needed a sequel. It stands fine on its own. Also, the story is about Lucius from the original. I don't really want to watch a story about Lucius. He's not Maximus Aurelius.

Ridley Scott seems fixated into making sequels of every popular film he's done before. I wouldn't be shocked if he were to announce Thelma and Louise 2 at this point.

I guess I see it more like a Gladiator spinoff rather than direct sequel with it being about Lucius rather than Maximus. If I get an any way similar score I'm probably going to be happy. Not going to go in with much in the way of expectations but happy to give this a try just in case it can revive any of the feelings I got from the original (one of my favourite films).

My thought process is I kind of don't like Lucius now. He narc'ed on everyone in the first movie to his uncle.

Reading this made me think of Kevin Smith listening to Jon Peters go on about how spiders, polar bears, etc. are the most dangerous predators in the animal kingdom and need to appear in the movie.

I hope this movie is fun, but those with an interested in history should watched Netflix's Roman Empire: Reign of Blood, it's superior in every respect.

That bucket list project is suppose to be a western! That makes me excited. This on the other hand is eh.

It's Ridley Scott... it's definitely $310 M. lol

I guess a whole bunch/majority of that excess will be waste, but hopefully some of it makes it onto screen.
