Glee II: More GLeek!

I hope they perform "Kings and Queens" by 30 Second to Mars when they win Regionals. I'd be such a perfect song, and it wouldn't be as cliche as "We are the Champions".
And I hope they perform more MCR. "I'm Not Okay" would be a perfect song for someone who just got rejected or something like that.

I would love some 30 Seconds to Mars.

I can't really see any of their songs fitting into Glee other than "Kings and Queens", "Hurricane", "Closer to the Edge" or "A Beautiful Lie". I think it would be great to see Rachel singing CTTE, because it's about accepting the mistakes you've made and hoping that one person you hurt will too.

I cant see them making Hurricane work (unless they also somehow manage to sneak a hardcore sex scene past the censors), but the rest sound good to me. I approve.

I'd like to hear a little more 90's R&B. They haven't really touched it since the acapella episode in season 1, where they almost managed to sing the entirety of "I Wanna Sex You Up" without saying the title.

I'd also like to see more U2. We've only had one song by them, and it was a very weak version, even weaker than the Mary J. Blige version. God I hate her...

I could see Sometimes You Cant Make It On Your Own working well on the show.

Randomness, Ryan Murphy is being approached to do the music for the Annie remake with Willow Smith. :csad:

Tell me you're kidding.

I can see Kurt, Finn, or maybe Puck singing that since it's about Daddy issues.
Does Puck have daddy issues?

Kind of. He's said before that his old man took off when he was younger.

It's interesting how comparatively few of the teen characters are growing up in "traditional" households. It's common in other shows too, where youngish characters tend to come from single parent households.

I guess in real life it would be quite common.

When is Santana gonna get some more actual singing time that is focused on her?

When is Tina going to get plot time? Seriously, she was advertised as a main character and has essentially been rendered to Other Asian's Asian girlfriend.

The divorce rate in the U.S. is about 50% for first marriages, even higher for subsequent ones, and have been that way for awhile. So, my guess is that it probably is fairly common in real life. I guess shows are only now catching up to that kind of family structure.

This is the baby boom generation's most lasting legacy. :(

I think it's safe to assume Santana, Mercedes, Brittany, Artie, Lauren, Sam, Blaine, Tina, and Mike all have the typical family set up, some of them have even had lines that seem to suggest this. The others it's just to be assumed until we see things on the show that confirm differently.

That really leaves Kurt, Finn, Rachel, Puck, and Quinn with divorced parents, two gay dads, or two parents who have married.

I just saw the Tuesday episode, I really liked the Puck/Isis storyline, it's the best thing Puck has been involved in and Mike and Tina need more screen time. All three of the Cheerios look much better in their regular clothes as well.

Finn is such a hypocrite. :cmad:

Mercedes has mentioned her mom, has she ever mentioned her dad?

Mike has two parents because they forbid him to play a transvestite in Rocky Horror Glee.

We don't know absolutely anything about Lauren's family, or Blaine's family.

Mike O'Malley told an interviewer at the Golden Globes that there is a Burt-Blaine meeting in the near future, maybe we'll get some mention then. Personally I think it could be interesting if Blaine's family isn't as accepting as Burt.

Mercedes dad is a dentist. She brings it up in the episode with the epic muted showdown between Will and Sue in Season 1.

And O'Malley said nothing about a Blaine/Burt meeting his word choice was that he met the boyfriend in a script and Entertainment Weekly assumed he meant Blaine. And right now with Blaine/Kurt firmly back in friend zone I think it's to soon to count him as that. Also I'd think they've probably met already seeing as they were relatively close to one another in the stands at the football game in the Superbowl Episode.

Unless it's a flashback.

I don't think he was referring to the SB episode, he said it was for an episode they just got the script for, and I'm pretty sure they were filming or finished with SB by the Golden Globes.

That would make it one of the next upcoming episodes, and it's a bit quick to have Burt meeting anyone else who's even a potential boyfriend.

Who knows if he meets this guy AS the boyfriend? O Malley could be aware this character is the boyfriend and he just said boyfriend. He never specifically stated it was Blaine, Dave, Sam, or ANY of the guys.

He could just be meeting this person as a friend of Kurt's. I don't know it just seems to me in my head that maybe Blaine picks up Kurt for school every morning and they get coffee. So if it's Blaine, it's definitely a flashback.

Why is it 'definitely a flashback'? Burt and Blaine could have a meeting at any time. It doesn't have to be the absolute first time they've ever seen each other, just the first "real", significant scene they've had together. They probably just interacted in passing at the game.

Because in a logic filled head, Burt's the kind of person who would meet all of Kurt's friends he brought home and Blaine and Kurt were at the football game together by Carole and Burt.

The way O'Malley made it sound was as if this was a first meeting.

Like Ryan Murphy's?

We don't know if Blaine has ever been to Kurt's home.

That's true. However, I think Burt's a proactive enough dad that he would at least ask Kurt about Blaine, if they were friends or more, etc.

If it is Blaine, I think it'd be funny if it was some kind of dinner with the family deal and Blaine was all ''Kurt, I'm nervous, remember what happened the first time I met your dad?" and cue flashback to overprotective Burt.
