Godzilla (2014)

How big is he meant to be in this movie? Because to me in these spots he looks the same size as '98 Godzilla.

And that's what confuses me as early on Legendary, del Toro and others spoke specifically about working together to avoid such overlap.

Anyways

Eh no one saw that crapfest anyways

The premise of PR sounded awesome. Who wouldn't wanna see giant monsters and robots fight? But actually watching it was a different story.

Zilla was 50 meters in the 1998 film 90 in Godzilla final wars. The new Godzilla is 106 meters.

His size seems to be fluctuating. Since he was chest level with the GGB in the new TV spots, and 106 meters isn't tall enough to reach that height IIRC.

106 Meters is 350 feet. The Golden Gate bridge is 220 feet (67 meters) tall. So that'd put him 130 feet over.

What about the depth of the water around the bridge? The bridge is 67 meters above the water's surface, right? But factor in water depth, and Godzilla still isn't big enough, I think.

His face is the perfect combation of a bear, eagle, and snapping turtle, and I ****ing love it .

From some of these shots it looks like Godzilla is gummin it, no teeth to be seen.

Depends, is he directly in the middle of the bridge or towards one end? Because its only really deep directly under the middle. On average the bay is only 14 feet deep, but in that purple bit, the new godzilla could almost just walk along the bottom.

/overthinking it.

Shhh now, Pacific Rim was awesome.

And it doesn't look like Godzilla is attacking the bridge. Seems he's getting hit by missiles and stumbling into it.

dude seriously....this movie looks freaking special good, and I love how we are only getting quick glimpses of new stuff unlike Spider-Man 2 and even Cap2 which I'm super stoked for tonight, but this marketing done right, only thing they did wrong is that they should have released something sooner last year.

Releasing anything more wouldn't really make much of a difference. There are diminishing returns with that kind of thing. It doesn't do you much good to have all of they hype around your movie happen 6 months before release.

Maybe that's an intentional call back.

Except this time around Godzilla will just instantly heal and proceed to swipe the jets (?) out of the sky. Maybe the only reason he looks hurt there is because he's already fighting a MUTO and the military is butting in after the MUTO opened up a weak spot.

That scene definitely looks like a pivotal fight scene between
Godzilla and that Flying MUTO

The new TV spots are great, I love how they are shooting Zilla from the human POV in a lot of the destruction footage, it throws you right into the terror.
