Action-Adventure Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire

Well she seemed to have dealt with aliens fine enough, why not kaijus? :o

I do hope they don't lose Dr Andrews and Jia.

On one hand I do agree...but on the other I feel like TNE kinda gave their stories a kind of conclusion.

I do think this next G/K film needs to be more Godzilla focused. Kong needs some time to chill with Suko and Shimo

All I want is for Dan Stevens to come back. Which is a possibility because this franchise has a pattern of regulars sticking around for a couple of movies and then passing the torch to another pair, like Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins from Godzilla to KOTM, Millie Bobbie Brown and Kyle Chandler from KOTM to GvK, Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry from GvK to GxK, etc.

Considering Jia is now just as much connected to Mothra as she is to Kong, definitely easy to keep her and Andrews in a more Godzilla focused story.

Could you imagine how much bigger Godzilla 2014 would have been with Stevens instead of ATJ. :o

Hope both Kong and Godzilla stick together the whole movie and develop a bond other than just remaining super reluctant allies again. Need to see the G-Man interact with Suko and Shimo.

Gareth Edwards would never have allowed Stevens to have as much fun as whoever directed GxK did. :o

Some neat updates.
I wonder what new Kaiju is going to appear. I hope for Biollante.

If we get Delroy Lindo like he was in Congo interacting with Dan Stevens, we're in for a treat.

Contrary to other people, I want more and better focus on the humans.

Skull Island was the best to do it in this franchise, even though the supporting cast totally stole the spotlight from Hiddleston and Larson.

All I want is more Godzilla and I know I'm not alone there. I feel like since the last one was basically a Kong movie, it's probably fair to assume that the villain in this one will be one from the Godzilla canon.

I agree. It's also the overall best movie in the Monster verse franchise.

I need him and Kong to stick together throughout the majority of the movie and actually develop their relationship. Heck, I could see him having an entertaining dynamic with Suko. Just overall give Godzilla a meatier role because the last thing I want is to watch another Godzilla and Kong movie where his character feels shoehorned in.

Realistically the last movie should have just been called Kong: The New Empire but I guess they felt obligated to have Godzilla in the title for that box office draw.

I don't know so much about that. I think the problem with Godzilla 2014 was Gareth Edwards' poor direction. He didn't get the most out of his actors. The script obviously had problems as well. Ken Watanabe's performance was terrible in the movie, and Watanabe is generally a good actor.

I do think Aaron Taylor Johnson was a weak character to build the movie around, especially when Bryan Cranston was so much more interesting and compelling. The movie loses all its steam once Cranston's character dies. It was a waste. And he dies before Godzilla even shows up.

You could kinda tell how mostly disinterested Wingard was whenever Godzilla was on-screen. Wouldn't be surprised if it started out as a Kong solo sequel (hence the Son of Kong rumors way back) and he was pressured into including Godzilla in this one because of how much bank GvK made.
