Post some good advice for your fellow hypsters.

Here's mine: Don't charge a bunch of stuff that you don't really need, just because you want it. When you do need something, try to pay cash as much as possible. Only use a credit card as a last resort, and only if you really need it.

Also, don't buy a car brand new. Wait two years and it will be at least 40% cheaper, but usually still has low mileage.

Always listen to mom , even if she is wrong she still might drop some wisdom that hadn't crossed your mind.

When you are in NYC, the only taxis that will stop for you are the ones with the middle light lit up. Don't hold you hand up and wave to the taxis with their lights off, or the taxis with the off-duty light on. Don't be one of those people. :o

Don't attempt to stab me when I break into your house or I will cook your face on your stove.

If you cook my face on the stove after I attempt to stab you, don't use the grill because the gas leaks and we will both be screwed.

If you're not sleeping well, you're depressed and you're having nightmares, you're probably cuckoo crazy. Don't tell anybody and hope it goes away, you'll be glad you did.

Never smile at a dog, and never substitute a gun for a power-drill when playing Russian Roulette, as you take away the element of there being a winner.

Also, ladies, if you're on a night out and a dude is giving you grief, walk away. In this day & age, any back-chat you give is probably going to result in you getting a broken jaw, or worse.

always wear safety goggles and the appropriate safety attire in a laboratory.

make sure you are aware of all teh potential hazards around you and don't work in a manner which may be detrimental to the safety of yourself or others.

Also try not to trust anyone, it's amazing how many people are trying to set you up, double check everything especially any orders or things you may do in an work environment. Document these checks as it may save you from getting fired one day (because in a hearsay argument, your superiors will always win).

Always trust your gut instincts.

Always deposit 10% of your pay check into some sort of savings account.

Always tell the truth...otherwise it WILL come and bite you on the arse sometime in the future.

Always remember your safeword or make sure you can snap your fingers three times in succession, just in case something goes wrong.

Never look a monkey in the eye.

dont bite the hand that feeds, you dont know where that hand has been.

Breath through your nose or you'll choke.

Always have a false name ready. The person you hated most in school is a good one.

Don't get married until at least the age of 25... no matter how "in love" you think you are. There is no rush. If your partner will not wait... then they do not really care about what you want... and therefore you should re-examine the relationship. NO MARRIAGE UNTIL YOU ARE BOTH READY

Don't get pregnant to "save" your relationship, Its stupid, and makes other girls want to slap you for giving women a bad name.

Always listen to mom
Absurd. Everyone I know has an insane or stupid old ***** for a mother.

My one friend's Mom pesters him to give his life to Jesus, while telling him that she'd never vote for a N***** (Barak Obama).

My other friend's Mom is an obese alcoholic who lost custody of her son and she has lost her mind.

Another Mom I know is a colossal hypocrite who has been emotionally torturing her daughter for her daughter's whole life. She has actually told her that no one will ever love her because she's so ugly.

All it takes to become a mother is to spread your legs, wait around for 9 months, and then push really hard. It doesn't mean that you become wise at all.

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I guess the better advice would be to listen to elders, mothers or not. That way you can be sure not to make the horrible mistakes they did.
