After the recent award season, I found myself asking why I don't usually see most Academy Award Nominees and Winners after the season is over.
Films like The King's Speech, 12 Years a Slave, The Revenant, Birdman, Room etc. Good films, some of them even great, but almost nobody talks about them when all the dust has settled.
So I came to the conclusion that I don't want to experience any of that again. I saw them, I liked them, I appreciate the art, but for some reason I don't want to revisit any of them.
I loved Room. It was my favorite film that year. But I only saw it once and I really don't want to see it again. Is not that I don't like it, like I said, it is a wonderful film, but I don't feel like owning it or even go through those emotions again. Same with most nominees.
Does anyone else feel this way? Or is it just me?
