Producers of Gossip Girl are planning a spinoff series set at a girls boarding school by either giving co-star Taylor Momsen aka Jenny Humphrey her own series or by introducing a new character in the fall who is then spun off and given a new series.

Taylor, 14, plays a character who is a self-esteem challenged outsider and struggles to fit in. Any spinoff would likely draw on Taylor’s character Jenny Humphrey in the Gossip Girl book series for inspiration, according to the Hollywood Reporter. In the books, a series of public embarrassments (such as appearing in a teen magazine wearing next to nothing) results in Humphrey having to either repeat ninth grade or find a new school.

It is not yet clear whether the spinoff would be picked up for the fall season considering the CW already has Gossip Girl and 90210 in production, as well as One Tree Hill.

I hate Jenny in the show. Hopefully she won't suck so bad, next season if they do decide to do "It Girl". I haven't read any of the "It Girl" books, are they any good?

According to the latest reports, Gossip Girl head honcho Josh Schwartz has said the spinoff rumors are NOT true.

Schwarts says, "Not sure how this got out there, but no plans for spinoff at this moment. The books do have a spinoff, but we have nothing in the works right now other than making sure season two gets off to a great start."

And there you have it, straight from the boss' mouth.

Although, it should be noted, the key words in his statement are "at this moment."

I just got into this show. Damn, i regret not watching it from the beginning, its so awesome, and i dont give a crap if its a chick show hot girls, pretty good story lines and Michelle Trachtenberg . I hope Georgina gets a bigger role on the show, shes such a caniving *****!

I absolutely loved the last episode. Queen S was a direction I never even considered for the character but I'm in love with it already.

Well 6 years and we have finally come to the end. Sure I bet no one here still watches it and it has been almost worst then a soap opera but the finale had some good bits. The reveal of Gossip Girl though....you can tell they just made up their minds at the last minute while writing this episode.

ya, but I think they pulled it off pretty well. It's a believable end, and it's more or less happy ending, which is right up this shows alley. I was actually surprised and impressed by the way they wrapped it all up.

Ya but having s/d end up together after his reveal is just wrong. He only spent 6 yrs posting things about her and humiliating her at every point.

I haven't watched the season but I did read about the finale. I was disappointed in hearing that Rufus and Lilly didn't end up together.

i usually feel sad when a show i watch ends, but i couldn't care less after watching the finale. the writers made it really hard to care.

I still haven't seen the finale ep, but yeah. This last season, I watched it just because, but I didn't know what the hell was going on anymore.
