New season starts tonight. Figured I'd start the new thread. I'd post a trailer or promo for the new season, but, like anything that isnt Gossip Girl or The Vampire Diaries, The CW has really outdone themselves in ****ty promotion (or lack thereof) for their shows.

Anyway, discuss.

Is this the last season? If so, I should at least watch it. I haven't since Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton left.

There's no way of knowing with The CW. With the exception of Smallville, that is. But with the rest of their stuff, there's no way of knowing whether it stays or goes until upfronts in may. Otherwise the CW just usually plays their little bull**** "maybe/maybe not" game.

Well I heard once that Mark Schwahn said he'd hope to get CMM for the final season, and since he's been talking about bringing Lucas back, it only made sense that he was calling this OTH's last season, but I do agree that the CW never cares about quality and only quantity. Heck, I could see CW wanting 20 seasons of Gossip Girl, 12 seasons of Vampire Diaries and so on.

If only CW decides to let Gamble end Supernatural so Dawn won't make SPN become another SV.

So...how about that ending?

I dug it. I just wish I didn't know about it before-hand, that would've made it more of an awesome surprise. I just hope they dont drag out this out of body thing too long.

I was expecting a Mia/Alex catfight. I am disappoint. :csad:

You knew about it before-hand? I didn't. It surprised me. First I was pissed (at the beginning of the episode) but once I saw the ending, I liked it.

Yeah, I was on wikipedia and I saw the descriptions for the first few episodes. I'm somewhat less rigid when it comes to this as opposed to stuff like LOST or Supernatural. If I didn't know, I would've been furious about such a cop out until they got to the end.

I thought it was a cop-out. So I turned off the TV and didn't come back until the last five minutes. Glad I did.

I was surprised that they brought back the old opening credits. They havent used that since season 4.

Last nights was kinda meh.... all I really cared about was Clay and Quinn.

That's how I'm high fiving from now on. :o

Well, last night was pretty awesome. Putting aside the fact that they're series regulars and I highly doubt the producers would have the balls to do it, there were parts where I legitimately thought Brooke and Quinn were dead.

I haven't watched this show since the season premiere. Was it given a full season or just 13 episodes?

Full season.

Buuuuuuump!

Best bump ever. :o

Quinn too. Hot as it was, I was totally eyerolling it when I saw the promo, but in the episode it actually wasnt so bad.

Damn.

Season 9, the final season, starts up tonight.

Yep. And if the first few minutes of the premiere are any indication, these folks aren't gonna have many happy days this season....

I'm under no illusions that its Nathan under that sheet, but goddamn, this is heating up.

I was disappointed in Chad Michael Murray's return. He needs to come back before the end of the series otherwise his "return" was crap. I want to see him interact with Brooke, Mouth, Nathan, and Skills one last time. And what the **** was up with his hair?! The Nathan storyline is interesting as well as the stuff going on with Clay. I've been liking this season a lot more than the previous two after Lucas left. It will be sad to see this show end but honestly...it should have ended with season 4 IMO.

I sort of agree on CMM, but doing all that would've required him to be back for at least a few episodes more, which I would'nt have minded. Otherwise, it just would've been him going from place to place, saying "Hey, guys, remember me? It's Lucas!" If he had to be in one episode only, I'm glad his part was with Haley. She was the one he started with. Before he joined the team and before he became popular and got Brooke and Peyton, Haley was there for that.

I'll agree that seasons 1-4 were the best, but I still relatively enjoyed 5 and 6. 7 and 8 are where the flaws started becoming alot more evident, with the good moments fairly few and far between. This season has been a nice comeback, and a good place to finish it off.

I just love how ineffectual the criminal justice system on this show is. I mean, ****, these people had no idea that Dan had anything to do with killing his brother until he admitted it to them... even after that admission, he was only in prison for 4-5 years. And now, the guy who beat Brooke and killed Q goes free, and these people haven't even charged him with Q's death, despite the fact that he had his wallet after Q got killed in a robbery. And then there's a dirty cop in their midst and they have no idea. Good God.... :o
