Guardians of the Galaxy GOTG: Spoiler Talk

It was brilliant, funny and emotional. Rocket, Groot and Drax all had their brilliant little quirks. Pratt was brilliant, Saldana is the new and current reigning love of my life, green or not. Groot's facial expression to Drax's vocabulary, I never failed to laugh. I loved the relationships and interaction between them all. The WWE fan in me is revelling in how good Dave Bautista was. I thought Ronan was pretty cool, but didn't expect to see so little of The Collector. I'm going to watch it again multiple times and can't wait to do so. Kind of post credit scene - hysterical. Scene 2 - Some people will be left wanting more. I have no affiliation to the character but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

One of, if not the funniest moment for me was when Star-Lord, Drax and Groot were on the Dark Aster fighting and Groot goes absolutely bat **** and kills like 20 guys, roaring as he does so. Quill and Drax give each other this "holy ****" look, then Groot turns round with this big goofy grin on his face.

Haha, that was great:woot:

I would like to know if anyone else was confused about how they made such a little deal about Groot still being alive? I mean it looked Like Rocket didn't know that tiny branch would grow into Groot and then we realize he is still alive (the scene on the repaired Milano). Others didn't seem to be that surprised, however, so did they figure it out in the meantime?

Yea i think Rocket was initially just keeping some of his old buddy, then must have though "I know, i'll plant him and see if he grows back!"

The scene where he was dancing to the Jackson 5 was adorable.

There's so much I want to discuss now...

Groot and Rocket were fantastic, as was Drax... Baby Groot was great

I had no problem with Howard's scene, not every post credits scene has to be some big tease for the next movie. We already had that with Cap

We are going to plenty of Age of Ultron very soon. Not that all upset there is no Age of Ultron tag scene.

That was one of the scenes I laughed so hard I started crying a little bit. The whole theatre burst into laughter when he did that.

I didn't catch who Nathan Fillion was.

But that end credit scene, I didn't get it. I kinda saw a waste of a link for ant man or avengers 2. I'd rather see Groot dancing again

One scene that made me laugh more than it should have was Peter dropping the Orb when he goes to show it to The Collector.

The big inmate whose nostrils get impaled by Groot.

Does anyone remember hearing Moonage Daydream at some point during the movie? It's on the Awesome Mix album and I'm trying to place a point where I might've heard it. I'll be seeing it again this weekend so I'll keep an ear out for it.

It's while Star Lord is flying the Milano through space. I can't remember precisely when but it's in there

Loved it! The cinematography was simply amazing! Also very emotional. But...

I can't believe they killed Ronan!! Hopefully they bring him back.

I hope they don't. the MCU needs to not cheapen death any more

Can anyone identify the Celestial they showed during the Infinity Stone history lesson?

Few thoughts:

*I was blown away by what a scene-stealer Bautista turned out to be. He sold the humor perfectly. Not only did he do a great job, I now can't imagine ANYONE else being a better Drax.

*Howard's tag was a perfect summation of the movie-- It was a love letter to hardcore fans, but also took the piss out of you for wanting something more earth-shattering and meaningful.

*Groot's 4th word definitely got me all mushy. Also, his killing spree was indeed epic and hilarious.

*You know you enjoyed a movie when your biggest problem was you wanted MORE of everything. Particularly Nebula, such a great design but we know we'll see her again because this movie is going to be a smash. I LOVED the way she self-repaired.

*Thanos wasn't terrible, but I sort of wished they'd kept him a little more mysterious until they could really nail the effects a couple of years from now. I think a mix of practical and CG would be better. I don't like how they redesigned him to look more blandly human in the face. Especially since they finally seemed to have learned their lesson with the Hulk by allowing him to look more ape-like and brutish in 'Avengers'.

*Yondu has NOTHING to do with the comic version, but holy hell I can't find any fault with Rooker's portrayal of a hillbilly space pirate. He was a total hoot.

Do the Nova Corps fly in this movie?
No. I assume they're saving the Centurions for either GOTG2 or a Nova movie.

If you play Marvel: Avengers Alliance, the baby Groot has already been spoiled.
...or if you know anything about the comics. :oldrazz:

Nathan Fillion - Howard the Duck..so much win!
Was...was that him!?

I'll just post here the most awesome line in the film:

WE ARE GROOT...

I teared up during the scene. :hrt:

I can't believe the amount of hate the Howard the Duck scene is getting, purely because it doesn't appear to progress or link to the MCU, being a Marvel comic book fan all my life, I can't believe the movies I am watching these days, we are truly being treated to not only something amazing, but something that has never been done before, and the fact I got to see Howard the Duck and know he exists out there in the MCU was a delight for me. It appears you really can get to much of a good thing, Marvel fans have been spoiled as of late, and they 'expect' a certain type of after/mid credits scene like its their right. I see it as Marvels right to do what they see fit with their movies and keep surprising us like they are, like who seriously expected to see Howard the Duck in the MCU? People need to start enjoying the bonus scenes for what they are, a bonus, seeing a modern day live action Howard the Duck is a bonus for me.

Who's to say Howard won't join the team in the sequel? I'm 100% sure we'll see Cosmo again, maybe Howard & him hang out on Knowwhere until the Guardians pick them up. I love the character & was really happy with his cameo in this movie (did more justice to the character than the POS from the 80s), I do hope we see him again though.

And was it just me or did I see a glimpse of Beta Ray Bill in the background of the collector's...error...collections? It looked like he could've been crouched over facing to the side. But I know I saw a red cape!

Definitely one of the best parts. He was so cute, yet totally dangerous. I loved how proud he was of himself :D

LOL! Same here for sure.

"THEY GOT MY DICK MESSAGE" and the way he says it. He's so over joyed. haha.

And John C. Reilly killed every scene. "That's... that's murder. That's like the worst crime. And illegal."

I really hope we see Reilly co-star in a Nova movie. I'd love to see him training a reckless Richard Rider.

It was definitely in there. I believe it was when they were flying into Knowhere.
