Grant Morrison OWNS Frank Miller

Yeah, they should be focusing on Miller's other, far better Batman work. Year One is Batman. That and TLH should be required reading for every Batman writer.

I still cant believe the same guy wrote both. Its like he had the perfect understanding of the character in YearOne, then he went ****ing crazy for DKR.

Probably, can I continue my rant Mr. Picky? Thank you.

Bendis thinks he has been sent here on earth by God to write comics.

From Bendis.

I'm just saying,it pisses me off when I see ppl just jumping on the hate bandwagon for no particular reason.

Anyways, back on topic.I loved Y1 and DKR,but this is just a silly concept in my eyes.

I'd rather see Miller drawing these days.

Miller's art has declined almost as much as his writing in my eyes. He's gotten better in his technical areas, but his style is really ugly to me now.

I'd say his writing in All Star is better than his art just for the comedic value.

But not everyone finds it as funny as I do.

I think millars only problem these days, is that lately hes kind of began to spoof himself and his own past work at times[especailly in all-star Batman]. though that Im the goodman batman line is infintly awesome. You also gotta give Millar credit for starting the modern relationship between batman and superman, with them been uneasy allies but not exactly best friends as they have different methods of crime fightining. Before Millar, batman and superman relationship was boarding on alittle to "friendly" for such different beings.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Miller establish Batman and Superman's relationship as one of outright hostility in DKR?

correct, but before DKR batman and superman were best friends and had dinner togther in their costumes etc. so DKR simply made sure that from then on thier relationship wasn't gonna buddy buddy like the old days. John Bryne then added tio it more clearly[and less violently] in MAN of steel.

So, really, John Byrne is the one who defined the modern relationship between Batman and Superman then.

It's not my fault every single damn thing Morrison's ever written rules.
Well everything but ninja man bats. I mean, what the hell?

And why would Batman hate Superman so much, it doesnt make sense to me. Either way, Man of Steel isnt in continuity anymore.

grant morrison is just mad he didnt think of it first. i cant wait for this comic book. Frank Miller wrote DKR, he is a god.

I don't think it's hate. Just dislike/annoyance. Neither one really likes how the other operates. But they do respect each other. Same way how Daredevil and The Punisher respect one another, even though they don't like each other very much,

I don't think the Punisher respects Daredevil too much. At least not Ennis' Punisher.

Well as was alluded to by someone else, he wrote DKR first. So actually he wrote an extreme Batman personality for the Batman who's hardened over the years in DKR, and wrote a more optimistic Batman for Year One, AFTER the fact of DKR. So when he had to write what was going to be the big first year origin, that he knew all future writers would work off of (if his story was good enough, which it was), he made a very intelligent decision and wrote the healthier psyche of a younger, in-continuity Batman. In conclusion, Frank Miller was a Batman genius.

Not his fault that everyone chose to work off his model for the future Batman as opposed to his model for the past Batman.

I don't really think that Daredevil respects Punisher that much.

That, too. Definitely not after this, at any rate:

I think Year One is great, but hes chosen to stick with his DKR model after that. DKR is out of continuity for a reason, its not his fault writers chose DKR as a model for Batman but he holds some sort of strange influence over the comic book community. I respect Grant Morrison for realizing that and doing something about it. Paul Dini as well and many other Batman writers.
