Great unproduced scripts?

The scripts for Alien3 that were action oriented were pretty good & a million times better than the crap we got.

Smith's Superman had potential. Wasn't there one that had Metallo from a dude named Walker? That was okay, too. At least Supes threw a punch.

Very true. What Supes needs is someone who really has a good grasp on the character and the world to write a great screenplay.

One script I've wanted to read was the Michael France draft of Fantastic Four. From what I've read it's one of the best superhero scripts ever written, and it would have been made had it not costed around 175 million to produce (but then again this was in 1995 or so, and for some reason he was credited on the movie some 10 years later).

Also the Sherlock Holmes vs Dracula script sounds interesting.

I can dream, can't I?

I've read it. It's fantastic, but there wasn't enough V.

Smith's SUPERMAN LIVES had more problems than studio interference. MAN OF STEEL by Alex Ford is ok. It's not terribly well written, and he basically copied ideas from the original Man of Steel revamp storyline and added STAS elements.

One script I've wanted to read was the Michael France draft of Fantastic Four.

It's ok. A little better than the movie we ended up getting.

I would also like to add a professional DAREDEVIL script I read circa 2000. It was written in the mid nineties, and featured a much, much better take on The Kingpin and Elektra and Bullsye than the film did. Very well written, gritty-as-hell, compelling script.

Oh snap, I'm gonna have alot of reading to do. Thanks.

Harlan Ellison's I, Robot script would have been a terrific and smart movie. It's well worth seeking out the book the reprints that.

I've never read it, but allegedly the Coens' script for To the White Sea is supposed to be terrific.

You mean the one that was originally called Hardwired?

You mean the one that was originally called Hardwired?

Absolutely not.

I mean Harlan Ellison directly adapting Isaac Asimov's I, Robot, in 1978. With Asimov's blessing and approval. Which was finally published in book form in 1994.

David Hayter's Iron Man. Yes, it wasn't all that faithful (Tony didn't get captured in the Middle East, and was never much of a prick, for instance) but it was still quite good. The action read phenomenal

Could someone please summarise the Carnivore script by the Wachowski brothers? I am currently reading A Crowded Room by James Cameron but am really curious as to what the plot is since I heard so much about it by have no idea as to what the hell it is.

Off the top of my head...

PLASTIC MAN, the original CONSTANTINE script, the Wachowski's earliest V FOR VENDETTA draft...

and GHOSTBUSTERS III.

Anyone know where I can find Ghostbusters III?

Hey all. I've seen a few referrals to my site from this thread, so I thought I'd stop by and say hello.

I run "Almost A Movie," a site which focuses on unmade or radically changed scripts. I host a lot of scripts, and if I don't have it I often have something to say about it anyway. You can check out the site's index page here:

Here's the English version:

A lot of people like the Andrew Kevin Walker script X-men which was pretty ambitious from what I understand.

I wasn't too hot on the Romero script for Resident Evil. Still felt like it was missing something, especially making Chris Redfield a farmboy that's dating Jill and doesn't know she's a STARS agent. It did cram a lot of the monsters in but that's it really.

Anyone have the original MOTU script by David Odell that apparently has a lot more of Eternia?
