Great unproduced scripts?

The scripts for Alien3 that were action oriented were pretty good & a million times better than the crap we got.

Meh they where mostly just Aliens clones. There's more to Alien than just gunz, explosiunz and mareenz.

Alien 3 = awesomeness.

NEVILLE
My name is Robert Neville. Today is October 17th,
the year 2002. I was born in 1960, on this very day,
so that makes today my birthday. (remembering)
Every year for my birthday, my wife Ellen would throw
me a party. A kid's party. Cake, ice cream, funny hats,
"Pin the Tail on the Donkey". One year she rented a pony.
It didn't matter that we were grown-ups and this was all
kind of silly to the neighbors. She just did things like
that.
She brought such joy into everything she did, everything
she touched... (too nostalgic) I am forty-two today.
I feel fine. I feel fit. My mental state is... pretty good.
(withdraws) Let's start over. (focuses)
My name is Robert Neville. I was born forty-two years
ago in Des Moines, Iowa. I had a wife Ellen and a daughter
Grace. My father's name was Bill and my mother's
Charlotte. They were farm people.
I hope... Someday... When someone finds these tapes...
You will know who I was. What I was about.
What I tried to do. What I try to do. (withdraws)
I think I killed six last night.

How in the bloody hell did anyone expect Arnold Schwarzenegger to get through that?

Awesome idea for a thread...people should also post whats different in these scripts as well for those of us who dont have much time to read them :(

What was his X-men script about?

I think a lot of it is like the first one but on a much grander scale. Like lots of fighting in New York City. More tension with Wolverine/Cyclops/Jean, stuff like that. I think I read it even has a Wolverine/Cyclops fight in it.

Is this the one with Jubilee and how she has the cure inside her?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't an X-men movie originally planned back in like 94-95? I know it was piggybacking on the success of the Fox X-men cartoon

I'll include:

Indiana Jones IV by Frank Darabont...the script that freaking Lucas turned down!

I think eventually, it'll be online

Its got to be online seeing as Ive read it - although I no longer have it.:woot: Surprisingly -aside from being more cohesive and featuring a cool aerial dogfight scene, it really isnt that much better than the one they filmed. It feels more like Indy should, Marion is better...but it goes downhill pretty quickly and the script brings a bunch of brand new problems to the table.

Glad to see Alien 3 getting the respect it deserves -its a few years too late though. Aliens is dumb fun but if you look at the Alien series as a whole, its the odd one out.

The Frank Darabont script for Indy 4. I mean, I loved the one we got, but this one was great too! But it did have some of its downers. Indy's introduction, him muttering "Damn kids" seemed wrong. Indy getting eaten by a giant snake. Another plane battle, the alien turning into Hitler. And the ending, Indy didn't need to explain to Marion why he didn't choose to have all the power he wanted. But alot of the ideas were used in Indy 4. A surprising amount. The crystal skulls, the warehouse scene (the one in the film is better) Doom Town, South America, the giant ants, and the aliens. But here were alot of great ideas. I think his name is Yuri. He is the Mac character of the script. He was great too. And I sort of liked the love triangle between Indy and Marion's wife. Indy in the museum fighting the Thin Man. Him sneaking into his house when the agents were searching for him. A small but great appearance from his father. Lots of great ideas. But still, I'm happy with what we got.

What was his X-men script about?

Ughhh lol i know. The Resident Evil we got and the one he wrote are equally bad.

magneto tries to take manhatten as a soverign nation for mutants. and there were sentinals. one or two more drafts and i could have been great

i'd love to read the original gremlins script

You mean the one where Gizmo eats the family dog and the gremlins murder people in much, much more vicious ways?

Yeah, it might be interesting...

I have that script and read it before.

And also
The mom gets killed and billy comes home and sees her head rolls down the stairs.

I still to this day would love to see The Batman script by Tom (Superman: The Movie) Mankiewicz that Batman, Robin, The Joker, Rupert Thorne, and Silver St. Cloud. I'd love it if they would even animate this! I like this script.

The Sam Hamm version of Batman before Warren Skarren got a hold of it and made Napier the Waynes killer.

Batman: Darknight that had Scarecrow and Man-Bat.

Batman: Triumphant that had Batman and Scarecrow.

Batman vs. Superman script from what I read was good.

The X-Men script that was posted sounded awesome and better than the the other X-Men movies.

What else did this guy have in mind?
I just read Sam Hamm's Watchmen script. Basically here is the rundown. The film opens with a huge fight on the Statue of Liberty against some terrorists then cuts to ten years later where all heroes have been outlawed. Like the Graphic Novel, Comedian takes a pavement dive and Rorschach investigates it. The similarities break down there. Very few scenes are used. Dr. Manhattan [Veidt] gives Laurie (Silk Spectre II) cancer and eventually cures her, but in curing her removes his ability to see the future. They end up all meeting to stop Veidt who's plan is to go back in time and stop the creation of Dr. Manhattan and thus stop the dystopian future they live in. Dr. Manhattan kills him as a result and goes back in time himself and saves himself from becoming Dr. Manhattan. The surviving heroes, Laurie, Nite-Owl and Rorschach all go back to New York where they are no longer viewed as criminals.

Yeah it even had a cameo by Alpha Flight in the very beginning. It's alright...it just feels a ton like a cartoon trying to be a movie. Lots of villains who are never developed, and many corny lines like when Professor X says to Cyclops "If we don't find him (Wolverine) first THEY WILL" (yes, it was in caps like that).

That sounds pretty awesome! Better than the crap we got from Ratner.

You would have preferred the airborne virus version of the Alien, with Thing-esque "are you infected or not" dynamics? And James Cameron's Spider-Man ideas were awful.

I read James Cameron's Spider-Man script, and i all I have to say is that I'm glad Sam Raimi came along.

Couldn't of been worse than X3, right?

Oh, God. Sounds like the typical bogged down happy ending Hollywood crap when it comes to adaptions. Thank God for Snyder.

Sam Hamm's screenplay might have actually been an okay story on its own, but as an adaptation, it's just ****ing terrible.

Anyone got a link to the violent gremlins one?
