Edit: AND DAMMIT!! : FOOD DOESN'T COUNT AS A SPORT! JUST BECAUSE YOU SEE SOME YUPPIE ESPN ANNOUNCER SPEAKING TO THE CONTRARY, DON'T BE FOOLED. GLUTTONY IS NOT A SPORT.

IT'S A PAST TIME OR HOBBY AT BEST. :)
Agreed - and lust isn't a sport either, so you guys can quit calling it "The Game". ;)

 sport, hobby, past time, whatever. . .

:( killjoy :csad:

As far as best as playing their sport, and not necessary all-around athlete or anything, Pele. Many of them are great, even the best, at their sport but not many are stand-out, holy **** amazing. Pele was.

Muhammad Ali (Boxing)...The Greatest Baby.............Followed By Michael Jordan held the game of Basketball on his back

It's just as impressive as any accomplishment anyone else on the list has. It does take training. Kobayashi has a friggin 6 pack.
Shoving 50 hotdogs into your mouth in ten minutes is as impressive as a five-year old sticking 20 crayons up his nose. Your body isn't supposed to be doing that.

And the guy who finished just behind him is pretty chubby. What shape you're in has little to do with it. It's a skill, which does not necessarily mean it's a sport. It may well be, but the fact you have to train to do it does not mean it is.

Wayne Gretzky wasn't just the greatest in his sport. He is also a great example to kids. He's happily married to his first wife, involved in his family, supports charities and seems to be a really nice guy. He doesn't appear to have ever been involved in any scandal of any kind (from sex to drugs). He's still in great shape and intelligent with all his faculties intact.

There is a reason why he has been referred to as "The Great One"

He's definitely a great guy, and the best role model of the list .

He is cool.

Hey, though, did you guys hear about the kid who won the Teen Choice Courage award yesterday at the Teen Choice Awards? Born with autism, he wanted to be a part of his school's basketball team, but he didn't make the cut - so he signed on to be manager. The coach was so impressed that he put him on the team roster for their final game.

In the final four minutes, when their team already had a huge lead, the coach let the autistic kid play (I know, the coach covered his ass first) - and the kid, in the FINAL FOUR MINUTES, scored SIX 3-POINT BASKETS IN A ROW. A ROW.

That's amazing. I hope this kid gets a future in basketball, he could be awesome.

Michael Jordan, followed by Tiger Woods.

Tony Hawk isn't the best skateboarder.

He's simply the most popular. He sells himself out to every form of advertising going. Dirty money grabbing *****.

Did you include competitive eating because the record holder is asian?:o

I'm English. I don't much like any of the above as greatest options.
