anyone check this out yet? it was surprisingly good for a winnick read! awesome art!

For some reason, I thought Bedard was writing this.

Liked it a lot. a lot. Called my girlfriend after reading it. She's been following the whole wedding drama pretty closely.

Isn't Hippolyta supposed to be the only one on Themyscira and all the Amazons are meant to be living mortal lives unknown scattered around the world?

I actually thought it was brilliant. Good pacing, made sense throughout. Good reactions and attidues/speech patterns from everyone. I think if everyone puts aside their Winnick hating from his work on the previous GA series, they'll actually like this.

I flipped through it in the shop. The only thing that struck me as good was when Dinah told Hal not to presume he knew what Connor was thinking. Surprisingly, Winick didn't **** Connor up completely, either; but, to be fair, Connor only appeared for a page or two.

Garbage dude, this whole plot line is garbage.

I rather have a garbage plot than
a dead green arrow.
Sure, they took something that was slightly interesting and tied it nto countdown but I don't think we have any choice of that anymore. It's going to muck up every book so we might as well.... I dont know what we should do exactly but i bet there will be a lot of btcihnig involved.

Last time we had a dead Green Arrow (it's not a spoiler at this point), we got Connor Hawke out of the deal. Seems like a good trade to me.

Hm. This sounds like a decent read. Are we finally back to "Exiles and first few arcs of Outsiders" Winick?

Give it a few issues. One decent issue doesn't bring him back up to his standard from that period.

So, I decided to check out the opening arc, just to see what happens with Green Arrow, and because Chiang’s art is great. On the art front, Chiang (or his colourist) scores a double-victory by giving Speedy II an emblem, not a boob window, and by colouring Green Arrow II to actually look Asian, instead of Caucasian. Anyway, the Queen is not dead, not that anyone seriously believed that, and is being held by Granny and her Shamazons on Themyscira (doesn’t Hippolyta supposedly still live there?), and, by issue’s end, Black Canary is on to them. I’m still not totally sold on Winick’s Black Canary, but this issue has Batman wielding a chainsaw, so I won’t complain too much.

Batman picking up a chainsaw so Black Canary won't watch the autopsy had me laughing so hard.

Let me just say that I absolutely love Cliff Chiang. Connor is white, black, & Asian, and Chiang is one of the few artists that makes him look like all 3.

Also, Winick's Dinah hasn't completely pissed me off yet.
