I don't understand why they can't just chose one of the different GL's other than Hal since he'll be in the upcoming movie .

well yea ever since we known for years batman is off due to his current film series, and wonder woman(for what ever their dam reasons are lol/since she likely isnt going to have a film i wish they let her in). I been wanting any gl, but since the hal jordan film is going into production in a few months green lantern is off limits, we know hal would have probably been off limits since he is going to be movie character, and same for alan scott since he is due to have a role in the film too. Sure it would be great if they decided to use kyle or john stewart gls in the show. But they probably want to just leave gl out. Probably due to the same bullcrap batman reasons.

well doomsday fight is one thing. The character of gl could easily be pulled off on smallville. They would just have to limit how much ring usage they do and maybe only have laser beams, and a simple construct like a hand or a claw. It would be doable. But like batman/wonderwoman we know gl is offlimits due to film department and other red tape issues.

i was always thinking if they did do gl they would probably mix and match a few gls together. Say its kyle/guy in name but have the background of john or hal.

I think Bruce Wayne has no chance to appear. they said it was a definitive "no".

For GL, I do not understand why they did not introduce John Stewart. It would have been so easy. The guy is a military sniper or whatever, and there are multiple occasion in the show to have militaries on the scene, so it should not have been difficult. Instead of Cyborg, I think the guy could have played the tough militar guy Stewart without problem.
Of course, I'd like to see a ring but they could even do something without it.
For the story, Abin Sur lost his ring in a fight versus Sinestro, it goes for John Stewart for a few moments (just show sinestro and show Abin at the end, 3 seconds), Brainiac stole a power ring to the guardian, thanks to J.Stewart Abin Sur has the ring back to the guardians and remember the brave earthman who helped him, something along those lines are completely Smallville-like. It would be so cool and so easy. Damned.

or they could have said there was another earth lantern but he is out in space so another earth sector protector was needed. Having a gl ring wouldnt be difficuilt at all. They did legion rings well. Now as i said it would just probably be a limited use of the gl powers to energy blasts, to maybe a hand/claw construct.

well sure with dc being restructed and all that could lift some embargos. But we know due to various reasons either budget/ movie in the works(gl/batman currently, and bull reason on WW since no film is happening any time soon). Could be a reason for blockage of characters used on the show. Or it could be other reasons due to legal rights say if a comic creator of say flash for example is still alive and he has rights over the character still. He might prevent said character to be used or what not. We have no clue what are the behind the scenes reasons why besides batman/ww/gl cant be in the show.

I think Bruce Wayne would have appeared if Chris Nolan didn't hold the character at ransom.

But Dick Grayson's Batman, or Batwoman, should pose TOO much of a problem licensing wise...
