Green Lantern Rebirth

Even without the fear bug, I don't mind him becoming GL again because, if the Gaurdians want him back and feel that he's not going to cause problems again, then he's going to be back. They kind of do what they want.

I like that Ganthet has become the sympathy/conscience of the Guardians now. All that time hobnobbing with Kyle has done him some good. :)

My my, what a can of worms to open.

I would have enjoyed a return of Hal Jordan that didn't involve retconning ET, but rather, filling in the obviously missing second chapter of a rushed story, and then definitively redeeming him from and for the act in the present tense.

I don't know.. Its like a cop shooting other cops and some civilians only to get his badge and gun back. I just don't like it. Oh well I dont have to read it i guess.

btw who here is actually reading aquaman? Man i actually been trying to like this book and it isn't working out. i want my money back :(

Well, you have to remember, the corps aren't like a police department. There isn't a department oif internal affairs or special hearings as to wether an officer is fit for duty. It's what the Gaurdians decide. And while they're not especially forgiving, they're not big on punishment either. Simply protectic life and creating order. If they felt Hal was capable of being in the corps again, then he'd be in. However, the other GLs wouldn't like it. Which would have made for a better story.

I would've went with hal being just a pilot and more of a supporting character to the gl ongoing. Make him earn his ring back at least.

that wouldve been the lamest thing ever.

hal jordan had his own book for almost 40-50 years and he's suddenly gonna go to supporting cast member? that really makes me sick to my stomach.

Alan Scott is 100 times the GL Hal is and hes been relegated to supporting character for a while.

I wish it had happened all the more now. :(

Bah, head of Checkmate is pretty important ;)

But still not quite a star. He's a part of two ensemble casts. An important part in both cases, yes, but still technically a supporting character more often than not. Sasha's more the star of Checkmate, and the focus shifts onto different characters in each arc in JSA.

the majority doesnt give a flying craps about scott. i think he's a coll character. but i really dont care enough for him. Hal jordan is a much more intresting character at this moment. IMO

Ummm who gives a **** if hes a star? Hes a much better character than Hal, by that logic, New Avengers is the best team ever put together because of star power. Damn, do you even think before you type?

Oh, yeah, Alan's easily a more interesting character than Hal, star or not. Hal's just lucky enough to have been a Silver Ager who got shafted in a time when the Silver Age is being resurrected in force. If Alan were given his own comic and I could only read it if I burned everything that featured Hal Jordan in it, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I don't even hate Hal that much, either; I hate how he's being handled right now more than anything else. But if it's a choice between Alan or Hal, well, Hal goes straight down the s***ter. The original is still the best in the GLs' case, as far as I'm concerned.

Yup, thats like saying Bart is a lot more interesting than Jay because hes a bigger name.

Yeah, Jay's not really the star of anything either, but he's a great character.

ehh, who gives a damn what you *****es think. Hal is back ****ers!!!!

and i never said jay was less interesting either.

No that would be a fantastic idea actually. I think dc should do it and pay me for it. As of this point the GL ongoing sucks and something needs to happen. ON that note so does nightwing desperately i might add*dixon i'm looking at you*.

Off the topic... I just read some recent spawn.... hahaha wow they're out there with that. Whats been going on since like I dunno the 90s? Damn. God and satan bwahahahaha..

Stop giving such a damn, you won't have any left for yourself.

You know there wouldn't even be a Hal Jordan Green Lantern without Alan Scott first...so for those who don't care about A. Scott as GL, well sorry but he was the first human to create the GL identiy so show some respect. And although I admire fan's loyalty to their heroes and idols, I pity those who can't see past them. If you focus everything on just one character, you can only grow so much....but if you expose yourselves to multiple characters, learn from them, grow with them...then you become a better person...and when their time in the sun dwindles, and it's time to pass to torch....UNDERSTAND it is a natural process that affects all things.
Its easy to be overly passionate on the boards, but we must take into consideration that not everyone will see eye to eye.....and for some, well they just NATURALLY leave a bad impression on us.
There's nothing wrong with hal going from main character to supporting character....he is another source of experience the new GL can learn from .... much like a teacher to a student.
a father to a son....
Although I think that Jordan's run as GL (again) is both exciting and fulfilling; I do not understand why they can't let him WORK for his ring again as suggested by kiuju. And to some people's dismay....that Spectre series doesn't make sense to me. IF Hal was really possessed/influenced by the spirit of Parallax(whatever) then he shouldn't have been the Spectre in the first place....because he was possessed by the parallax bug.
Or maybe have Hal become the very first Terran guardian on the GL council... where he can be held accountable for the sectors protection as special liasion to sector 2814.
DC did a complete 180 when they introduced that idiotic parallax entity.

Heroes who fall from grace and return as heroes, are even MORE heroic then the ones who never fall--because they learned from their mistakes.
