This one episode was more interesting than all of last season.:oldrazz:

It's because it had the superior Green Lantern, Guy Gardner.

Just saw it, good episode, I like this series more than YJ, they nailed Guy Gardner's personality as well.

Heh heh, indeed.

I have nearly 100 GLC & GLC villain figures and have gone out of my way to get them in the past. A couple of weeks ago, I saw an Alan Scott DCUC figure in all of his 1940s goofiness in the clearance aisle. I couldn't bring myself to get it. He looks like the love child of Bela Lugosi and a box of crayolas.

you know what I just realized bothers me about this show? Aside from VARYING power levels per plot device?

There is no focus that I have noticed on WILLPOWER. why is this?

i'll ask again.

Fantastic Episode. I loved how much crap Hal and Guy gave each other. But when they needed to, they were professionals and worked great as a Team.

i'll ask again.

I'm under the assumption they don't talk about willpower, because they dont want to make that the focus of the show. It's almost cheesy, if they non-stop talk about how much the emotion is powered.

I feel they are making the right direction choices, because in some previous green lantern incarnations..every other line is about "will power" and it just comes off as lame, because really thats a hard thing to explain.

Did they do something different with the show? It looks way better. Seems like they have shading now. Not just solid colored backgrounds as well.

.

It's likely because the emotional spectrum of rings would be over the heads of young kids, who are clearly a target demo of this show. It's a lot easier for a 5-year-old to under a guy with a magic ring than a one who has a alien supercomputer linked to his neural pathways to produce energy constructs that become weakened by fear and doubt.

The emotional spectrum's featured heavily in the show, though. The Star Sapphires are noted repeatedly to harness the power of love in their episode and the Red Lanterns the power of rage in several of theirs.

Personally, I think they've avoided harping on the willpower thing because willpower's not an emotion and that's always been kind of a weak spot in the "emotional" spectrum as Johns laid it out in the comics.

I don't mind the emotion spectrum or the multi-colored Lanterns, but I do wish the comics would move on to other concepts or other villains. I'm a little sick of constantly seeing conflicts between the several Corps or Lanterns.

Isn't the current event supposed to be about the Guardians' attempt to destroy all the corps? Maybe they'll actually succeed with a few. Hell, the Sinestro Corps is already down to just Arkillo.

haha, I always get frustrated when I see a post like that corpulent :(. I should really get into comics, as far as I know (since i dont read the comics) is that Sinestro leads the sinestro corps. haha.

After the War of the Green Lanterns Sinestro got another green ring and Hal lost his. He found out the Sinestro Corps was terrorizing his planet. So Sinestro got Hal to help free his planet by making a ring construct for Hal. They dismantled the entire corps and took the battery. Except for Arkillo, who found an alternate power source.

The writers of this show should write the script foe the next Green Lantern film.

Did all of this happen in the main GL book? I haven't read any of the New 52 (I did read the War of the GLs though), but would like to get back into them once Watchmen ends and a whole bunch of my comics budget opens up. :cwink:

Yep. War of the Green Lanterns was over the three books. But all the Hal stuff is in the main GL book.

So..I finally gave the show a shot and watched the very first episode. Getting into the animation was difficult, but it's grown on me. I am really enjoying the series!

Yeah, I had a hard time getting into the animation too. Though, I feel like they made some subtle changes this season. It looks slightly different.
