Apparently, having more than a few thousand people trying to download one trailer causes PSN to turn to complete ****. Oops, forgot that it actually is ****, so that's quite impossible.

One of the first things I read when I finally went out of the comic book and community sections of this site and into the game one was a post of how Sony would go out of buisness because some systems were overheating and having problems. I immediately remembered all the outcry and rage X-box 360 owners were having like crazy and remembered seeing that all over the net and wondering why everyone was talking on here like it had only happened to Sony.

Many networks and servers have crashed from too many ppl trying to download the same thing at the exact same time before, this isn't a Sony only thing. Should have bought Half-Life 2 and tried to install it when it first came out...oh that's right you couldn't because it took multiple days to get in, get it downloaded, and get it running.

Some ppl are grasping for straws on the Sony hate lol. It's like every small problem is made into a thread here. Someone could trip over their power cord inbetween the system and wall and break their neck, and we'd be seeing a "Sony are killers" thread within hours of it happening.

Actually, I've never heard of that. I've heard of original Xbox game updates making your console being screwy until you restart it. But that's about it, so I really don't know what you're talking about. Maybe you should link an article or something.

Did I ever say Half-Life 2 installation had anything to do with Microsoft or Xbox 360? Oh that's right, I didn't lol.

I said that many networks have crashed, it's not a Sony specific thing. I then sited the many problems HL 2 had with network failures over too many ppl overloading Steam as it is a good example of that.

The first paragraph was about something different as I was saying how many threads have been poping up stating PS3 problems and praising Xbox, when Xbox 360 had many of the same problems when it first came out, such as overheating and locking up.

My point was most systems have problems when they first come out. Both Xbox and PS3 are not immune to that, what's the point of pointing out each problem one by one and saying it'll be a tick in the downfall of Sony? It just reaks of bias to me is all. If you're going to talk about Sony network crashing, then be balanced and talk about Xbox crashes. Like ppl having to portforward, or spend days configuring and trouble shooting their routers and default firewalls on their routers and you pay for Xbox live, you don't for PS3 net. I understand that systems are not immune, but seriously. Xbox Live had many millions more of members than PSN by that time and it's understandable that a outage could happen with such stress on the bandwidth.

But PSN's was due to a few thousand people downloading one trailer. That's absolutely ridiculous. They should have at least have a better handle on their own Live service than that. If it was due to a million people trying to download the same trailer, hell, I'd understand. But the fact that it's nowhere near that figure just makes it laughable.

exactly... all the systems have problems. if we wanted to go start a thread in the microsoft forum or the wii forum for every little thing that they goofed on, we'd have the first page and a half of covered, probably. maybe more.

A thousand or so? Thats like .2% of the Xboxs out there. And I'm willing to bet my life savings on the fact that Microsoft will replace those Xboxs for free with no charge to the customer.
