Haven't been following this much. But I see you can only play as Peter Quill. Yikes. What a very odd choice.

Its strange making a game about a team and then only have one character be playable for sure.
But if you can do a good story that has the character interactions flow well, and the gameplay not make the other characters feel just like a tool to use, then it can work.

In that i want to point at GOW where you dont feel like Atreus is just some NPC in terms of the gameplay and all.
He feels like an important part of the story and gameplay.

If they can get that feeling here, its fine.
But still, a weird thing to make a guardians game of all possible IPs with only one playable character.

Its probably not going to be released in 2021.

I have a feeling that Sony just announced this after the launch date/price reveal to entice more people. Because if this is set to be released neXt year, there would have been an actual footage, just like the first look for God of War 2018. Or it would have gotten a similar teaser to Miles/other upcoming Sony eXclusives.

I beg to differ.

It is a huge missed opportunity. People expected/wanted the others to be playable, when they first heard about this game, not just Star-Lord.

But I seriously doubt that they are going to overhaul the entire game by making Gamora, Groot, DraX and Rocket playable - only now. They started developing this way back in 2017.

I like what I see of the story, but they really needed to give each character a playable section of the game or something. I'm guessing some DLC for at least one other character is in the cards? Give Rocket or Gamora their own DLC.

Reviews are very positive for the most part. I knew I was right that this would be a good game. Going to pick up the Cosmic Deluxe Edition later tonight. I was talking to one of the people who work at my local GameStop about how fun we think this game is going to be. So the reviews very encouraging.
