^ i have to agree. the only reason i hate 300 is for the added parts that were not in the graphic novel. snyder is a purist which i love, but even he had to add something in it to add a semblance of plot. but if you really want to look for hidden meanings in movies, i can start you off with a couple doozies.

Why do people look down on 300 because of its thin plot? Why do films have to have a traditional narrative structure? You don't go to an art gallery to read a book. Is music worthless when it doesn't have lyrics?

I said nothing about plot.

And I never said films have to have a traditional narrative structure. However, if they do have a traditional narrative structure - and 300 does - then it has to be a good one. And 300 doesn't have a good one.

With Pirates raking in the cash, I half expect things like Sinbad and Jason and the Argonauts to get big budget remakes.

Lets keep that suggestion on the Down Low..All we need is hollywood to remake these classics, but at some point they will..

I liked Troy,and kingdom of Heaven. 300 was good visually. I think they made it a rock video more than anything.I absolutely loathed the narriative voice of David Weinman? or whatever his name was,such a girly voice....

It isn't that it doesn't have a plot. It has no depth. You don't care when any of these characters die. They are all shallow and devoid of emotion. It is just boring. It should be like when The Wild Bunch goes down and instead it is empty. Pretty but empty. It also has strong authoritarian and mysogonistic undertones. It is sexist and as I said could double as Nazi propoganda from the '40s in terms of screenplay.

That is why some (though admittedly a small minority) do not like it. Alas.
