People like when meters like this justify their feelings that ____ movie is going to be great.

By it scoring anything less than 80% it makes some feel as if the movie just isn't up to par with their expectations. A silly notion really.

I pay attention to Rotten Tomatoes but I don't let it decide how much I like a movie. I loved The Fall personally and that scored around a 59% on Rotten Tomatoes. Same with Prometheus which scored a 73% but it didn't stop me from watching it and loving it. If I really want to watch a movie I go ahead and watch said movie regardless.

If I'm ambivalent or undecided I use stuff like this to merely help if I should spend my good money on a viewing.

Plus, it gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside whenever you look at it :cwink:
I get that when I look at the Metacritic score, because it's only 1 point below the Avengers and 3 points above X-Men: FC.

Just saw the movie.

If this gets less than 85% it will be one of the most unjust scores for a CBM in RT history.

This movie is better than X-men First Class. For all the talk about how it's just a re-tread never once did I feel like I was watching SM1. It's a radically different film and I don't think many of the rotten reviews have much merit.

Agreed on every point. I know it will still fall in the 76-80 range, but it's much higher in my heart.

Lol we should totally set up a CBM RottenTomatoes thread where we calculate our own average for the movie using critic reviews and forum reviews, and any negative review that says "Been there, done that" should be excluded :cwink:

We already have 291,053 ratings from the audience and its only been out since midnight? Wow... lol

I absolutely agree with this...I cannot believe the numbers on rotten tomatoes...this movie is obviously brilliant...

Wow @ mentioning the X-Men: First Class. X-Men: First Class was a breath of fresh air while The Amazing Spider-Man didn't feel new at all.

To be honest, considering that you have an X-Men: FC avatar and you say your location is the "X-Mansion" then of course you would probably say that. Not that I have anything against FC, because I don't.

I don't think either movie felt old, to be honest.

But I was much more involved in the story, characters and action with ASM.

I like First Class though. Just about my favorite X-men movie.

Actually I find the fairest rating is a combined RT critic and user score.

So hopefully the user score will be higher so when I combine them we get a much more deserving rating.

Please guess the critic and user rating.

Average those two numbers for a combined rating and then use it to answer the poll question.

Dont know, dont care.contrary to what people like to ignorantly believe,Rotton Tomatoes is not god when it comes to reviews of movies.People have the ignorant assumpion on the net that just because they say its a good movie or a bad movie, that makes it a fact but on the contrary, what they say means diddly squat on the truth of the matter.IMBD is a far more objective source for movies.

It's a decent barometer for films.

A lot of their ratings are pretty spot on.

Kinda OT but I can't believe someone actually said this. It makes me laugh every time I read it.
haha it really was a discussion when the first set pics came out...about 8-10 people all agreed he was balding and said it was gonna ruin superman

IMDB is full of Internet fanboys. Who do I trust....Roger Ebert or papi72!?

Make sure to rate TASM on RT to contribute towards the user rating!

Currently 74%, getting closer to my predicted 75%.
A lot of critics will score it down because it covers Spidey's origins which we already saw on the big screen 10 years ago.

As a hardcore web head does this bother me at all? No.
In fact, I find it hilarious the way fanboys troll the comment sections of negative reviews on RT.com of films they have not even seen.
